What causes my picture shake

Check your TV level ... it must stand on a firm foundation ... it wobbles because your floor shakes - reduce the shaking by improving its contact with the floor.

I have a HLN617W Samsung television. The picture shakes bad. When I put it on pip where you can watch 2 screens at one time, on the left is real shaky and the right is good for about 20 minutes and then it...

Two boards can cause that kind of problem in Samsung HL-N617W, either power supply or digital board.
Need to swap above said boards to confirm what board is causing problem or inspect closely for leaky electrolytic capacitors and replace them with same ratings.
Hope this info will help you.

TV picture shaking!!!

You have a Hyper module problem.Very common with these chassis.Toshiba part # 23148024.This part is no longer available, but it can be repaired.I dont know how much electronics training you may have but it`s a pretty detailed job.The hyper board is the silver stand up module inside the unit right behind the external Audio/Video jack panel. There are 11 little capacitors that all need to be replaced. The value of these caps are 10uf @ 16VDC.I do this job for about $245.00 and the unit works fine.Check with your local shop if it is too much for you.If you don`t know what you are doing you can ruin this module then it`s time for a new set.Good luck.

Hi Lee, if shaking or banging the tv temporarily "fixes" the set than you have some bad solder connections on the bottom of one of the boards, this of course means the board has to come out and be re-soldered to cure it, not an expensive repair, any questions? email me back, Happy New Year, BMW Rider

Problem w60 inch using hdtv cable box

i know this problem, happened to me with the comcast Motorola HD receiver box. The key is with the setting in the cable box. Switch on the TV. Set the channel to normal tuner channel 3 or HD input. Turn off the cable HD box. Press the Menu Button on the Cable box or the remote. You should see a Menu. Use the cursor keys to navigate The default setup is also one of the option, Right click on your cursor keys acts like the computer keyboard enter key and applies the change. The default setup is 16:9, the shacking would happen if you have set the picture type to "PAN SCAN". change it to either 16:9 or 4:3 Letter Box. The shacking should stop. Hope it helps.
