Re: Media Converter Installation Problem

Stupid question, but are you an administrative user on the machine? Uninstall the software completely. Reboot and install back. See if there is a newer version available on the web.

How/where to download movies

I have a Phillips go Gear myself. You need the media converter for phillips software for it. It takes any file and converts it to a Phillips specific file for your player. The disk came with my player but if you would like to download the software you can find it here:

Phillips gogear 6025 is not recognize by computer, code 28

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

How can I transfer DVD files to the SA6025

The Philips Media Converter is not capable of converting an entire DVD - you will have to acquire video editing software, and then break up the DVD files into 15-minute chunks, and then convert each chunk.

I need help with my Philips GoGear SA3020 mp3 with putting on vid

The only way I found that worked is convert video to WMV first. I used Smart Soft Video Converter but there are many out there. Then convert WMV to SMV using the Phillips SA30XX Media converter on the CD supplied with the unit.

Philips Go Gear MP3/Video Player 2 GB (Model SA3125)

The Phillips Go Gear is not compatible to Windows Vista, and there is nothing one can download to make it compatible. I contacted Phillips, and they said that there are no plans to update the software so that it works on Vista. Pass this to everyone that is having a similar problem. Contact Phillips on their website, and request that the Phillips Go Gear software be updated to include Windows Vista. If more people raise a stink (especially threatening never to buy Phillips products), maybe something will be done.
