I have an insperion 1501 and i've just reloaded sims 2 (and many of the expantion packs - 8 packs) it worked fine before and now when i try to get the comand bubble (i mean the bubble thing to tell the sims wat to do) only appears for a few seconds, which is not enough time to select the one i want. How to get i get it to work properly again?
btw my laptop had the blue screen of death before i reloaded the sims 2 and also i don't know a lot about laptops (just my game and my course work) so could you please explain wat i have to do in simple terms.

What is the error message? The CPUs will not overclock on there own, that requires configuration. Some components when not installed properly with cause the computer to boot to a black screen and the fan to speed up dramatically. I've seen memory sticks and display port cables cause this. Check all your hardware and make sure everything is seated properly.
The PUK code is the Personal Unblocking Key that you find on your sim card carrier.
When you buy your sim pack, you will be given a pack containing the user manual, the sim card which is attached in the sim carrier.
On the sim carrier, you will see your sim card/ mobile number, then a 8 digit PUK code, NOTE: in some cases, it used to be either above or lower than 8 digit, but most of them are 8 digits.
That is the code that is needed to unblock your phone.
I think university is the first or second expansion pack. I know there are issues if the expansions are not installed in order of their release. if you have say, seasons or freetime and then install university, it may not run correctly. You have to uninstall the packs or the game and re-install them in correct order. Yes, it's a big pain but I had to do it twice.
Install the SIMS2, or double deluxe whatever you have then follow this order with exception of say nightlife if you have have double deluxe because it comes with the original game.

If you replace the main battery and it will not charge, make sure the AC adapter is working (You can test the output with a multimeter) and make sure the LED on the Adapter stays on when connected to the system. Most likely, the motherboard has failed and will need replacement
