SOURCE: Trane XE1200 Fan Motor

Most likely problem with a not-so-old motor is the run capacitor for the fan.

Some units have fan & compressor capacitor combined into one -- others are separate.

The capacitor can be tested with a multi-meter with an MFD setting -- it should read reasonably close to the specs marked on the capacitor.

SOURCE: Why is my fan motor on my trane air conditioner

Check the capacitor for the fan. Has the fan been replaced recently? If so make sure the start lead is connected to the capacitor.

I have a American standard ac model 7A0018-60A100A and would like to know the model no. of the condenser fan motor so I can replace it

All you need to know is that it is a 1/4 hp, 825 rpm. 1/2 inch shaft. That is if you are going to buy an after market motor. I have had to make new mounting holes when using after market motors on trane systems (just the way trane is) but not a problem. If you're getting it from trane you would only need the model number of the condenser.

depends on the manufacturer. go to manufacturer internet site with model and serial numbers for parts info. if you are talking about a system other than rheem, trane, lennox. it is usually in the 1050 rpm, 220 volt,1/3 hp and you could use a rescue motor to replace it with. reversible motor.

I have a Trane XE 1100 Heat Pump. It is not cooling. My air handler blower works. The outside fan does not. I changed out both capacitors. When you turn unit on you can hear the relay activate. Then only a...

Probablly the fan. Do this test. Move the fan side to side. and up and down. Any more than 1000ths inch play and that motor is bad. When the bearing gets thin the rotor will rub the stator and lock up. This is called polling out. If the motor is stiff you can oil it with an HVAC approved oil called Zoomspout oil from ace hardware store. Zoomspout oil is non flammable temp resitant and is slow to disipate.

I need to know where I can find a trouble shooting guide for a Trane mod0944 module for a blower motor (mot09675)

Trane is very picky about being a Trane dealer before they will even talk to you. But as far as trouble shooting a module there no guides. If the flame comes on then the fan does not shutting down the furnace it could be a fan relay failure or the fan module failure. The modules propose is to allow the furnace time to heat up before bringing on the fan so as to not blow out cold. Or the fan motor it's self could failing
