If there is a driver needed ?

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question / exclamation? ! mark or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers
If your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it
or you might download slimdrivers.
Rather doing a driver hunt
Windows XP/Vista/7/8
Note: it will find all of your outdated drivers
This is a free driver solutions
which will automatically search for and find the correct driver
You will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point.
Click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated.
It might take some time being free

The headphone jack on the computer connects to the sound card, a hardware device that controls audio input and output on the PC.
The card contains a digital-to-analog converter that converts analog audio into digital signals and visa-versa.
The performance of the headphone jack, therefore, depends on how well the sound card functions; if the card doesn't work, then the headphones connected to the PC won't output sound.
Reconfiguring the audio settings will often fix problems with audio output on the headphone jack, but if the former fails to resolve the issue, replacing the sound card in its entirety is sometimes the only means of repair.
Click "Start." Enter "sound" into the search box. Select "Sound" from beneath Control Panel.
Double-click "Headphones."
If no "Headphones" option is available, double-click "Speakers."
Click "Properties" on the General tab.
Check the Device Status field for errors. Look up the message on Microsoft Support for more assistance, if applicable.
Close the window if the Device Status field reads "This Device Is Working Properly." Go to the "Levels" tab.
Click the speaker button to unmute the volume if the icon contains a red circle-backslash symbol. Drag the top slider to the right to increase the headphone volume.
Go to the "Enhancements" tab.
Check "Disable all Sound Effects." Go to Applications, and then clear "Allow Applications to Take Exclusive Control of This Device."
Click "OK" to close Headphones Properties or Speakers Properties.
Test the audio.
If the headphones fail to output sound, unplug the headphones from the computer.
Reconnect the headphones to the PC.
Headphone jacks are color-coded lime green on most PCs.
Look for the headphones symbol if the jacks are not color-coded.
Plug the headphones into the line-out port on the back of the computer if the headphone jack on the front of the PC fails to work, or visa-versa.
Test the headphones.
If headphones still won't emit sound, the sound card most likely requires replacement.
Replacing the Sound Card
Shut down the computer. Remove the power cord from the back of the PC.
Disconnect the keyboard, mouse, monitor and all other peripheral devices.
Loosen the screws found on the back of the case, then slide the cover panel off of the case. Touch the chassis to protect the hardware from electrostatic discharge, or ESD.
Set the computer on its side.
Locate the sound card found on the opposite of the audio jacks and loosen the screw that secures the card to the computer.
If no expansion card is located opposite the jacks, the computer uses an integrated sound card which can't be removed.
Remove the new audio card from its protective packaging.
Line up the card with an available expansion slot on the motherboard, then push the card down into the slot to install the new audio jacks.
Screw the card to the computer case.
Reassemble the computer.
Turn on the PC. Boot in to Windows and insert the CD that came with the new expansion card. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the sound card software to the computer.
Plug the headphones into the new line-out jack.

Windows 8 computer will not recognize the printer.

Unless a driver is installed and the driver required is not integral to the windows 8 library of drivers , the printer will not work. It must have the appropriate driver to function. It may be that the printer is a few years old and perfectly functioning but without the driver it is just a paperweight. Tome manufacturers do not update drivers wben anew operating system is released because they want the public to shell out for more hardware. Companies such as HP avoid this usually and provide great support for their equopment. Certain Japanese manucacturers are not so good.
I believe your printer may be unsupported by windows 8.
What is make and model please?

My computer windows xp 32 bit doesn't recognize my samsung sch s738c phone

I am assuming you are connecting your samsung phone to the Windows XP computer using a special cable that plugs to USB port. You should also have the PC connection driver software available from Samsung installed on your computer.

Please refer this site to download the software driver and manual.
Hope this helps.

Will Harman Kardon HK 206 speakers work with Windows 8

I just purchased a Dell XPS 8500 with Windows 8 and decided to keep using my old Harmon Kardon HK 206 speakers because I'm quite satisfied with these speakers. When I hooked them to my new PC, Windows 8 recognized them right away. The speakers work great on my new PC. Try going to the Control Panel and see if your speakers were recognized. (On my PC they're referred to as "Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio). That's due to the default drivers in Windows 8. As long as you see speakers in the control panel, you should be OK. In that case you should check your connections. If you don't see speakers in the control panel, go back one screen and select add a device and let Windows 8 scan for any device that it hadn't recognized before.

After update to windows 8 - drivers not working for asus k50ij.

Windows 8 is brand new and they may not have the drivers that you need for your computer on line. You may need to call them and ask them to send you a cd/dvd with the drivers for your computer. It is not always wise to upgrade your computer immediately when a new program such as windows 8 comes out. My advice to you is to reinstall your last windows back on your computer for now and if you want to upgrade to windows 8 check to see if all the drivers are available ahead of time, before you upgrade.

I need help with installing Windows XP x64 Edition on my computer. My computer currently runs Similar windows but with 32- bits, can you please tell me how to go about this. I have also backup my personal...

To install the X64bit versions XP for your PC, your hardward eg. Processor & Mainboard specifications must support the X64bit requirements. The installation is similar in installing the X86bit(32bit) XP versions. You have to do a search for the X64bits drivers first before repartitioning, reformatting your HDD & do a clean installation for the X64bit XP versions.

Hope it helps.

Computer doesn't recognized the mp3

this could be a vista compatability issue.
if you have driver or installation cds with the players, try installing any software.
also try a different usb port on the computer, as the port may have already assigned itself, for other devices.
try looking in the device manager, to see if the computer detects the device. but has problems or issues. usually a yellow triangle or exclamation mark.
Finally connect the device, and use ( Add new Hardware Wizard )

thankyou for using Fixya.

this is usually a driver issue.  check to make sure there isn't a new driver available from Sony.  Make sure the power is NOT turned on until AFTER you plug in the firewire port.
