Question about AMERICAN Comfort ACW500CH Portable Air Conditioner
I was running my ac unit on high for an hour in warm conditions and all of a sudden in started opening and closing the top ac vent.. so i turned it off and waited an hour thinking it overheated and now it turns on but no motor..the vent even opens and closes and the fan spins but no motor??

Three things come to mind. First, if its on an extension cord make sure it is rated for appliance use. Undersized cords will cause the compressor to trip off. Secondly, I know it sounds stupid, is the thermostat set below room temperature?, And third, is it possible that the cool air, that it is initally blowing out, short circuiting and being pulled right back into the filter section. Like if a curtain is hanging over it or its behind a door? Good luck
