SOURCE: refrigerator stopped cooling
The most common problems for refers not cooling is a condenser fan motor (the one that cools the compressor) is out. This can be caused by either a mouse has tried to jump trough the fan and it came on or a loss of grease or oil. There is no way to oil them so they have to be replaced. That is the problem especially if you unplugged the refer and it worked for a while then quit. If the fan doesn't cool the compressor it will overheat and shut down coming on intermittently then shutting off again. As for the refer that still doesn't cool when everything else does you may have an burnt overload also. Check the compressor area for burnt or stalled components ex. fan motor, relay, overload. If your compressor is out plan on spending from $300.00 to $500.00. But check the suggested components first. And beware there are appliance shops out there that will find one of these problems and give you an estimate for a compressor. Find someone reputable.

The compressor may not have to be changed it could be the relay that is bad, not properly starting the compressor. The relay is attached to the compressor where the wires go to it. Remove it, Shake it, If it sounds like little rocks are inside (it rattles) than it is bad. Let me know what you find

SOURCE: Help!! No cooling, just fan!!!
you probably have a defective contactor or start capacitor on condensing unit. if you pretty handy with wiring go to the condensing section open the panel. you should see a contactor (it's the little black piece with all the wires) check the condition of it. next to it is a capacitor and by the problem that you describe it could be that. check it if it looks bloated there's your problem just go an get an combination capacitor and wire up. (make sure the power to unit is off first. any other questions email me @ firstname.lastname@example.org

SOURCE: Fan and light no longer turn on
possibly the thermal overload sensor failed internally? as indicated in the instructions there is a overload sensor and thay will typically fail in others appliances.
