Question about Sharp Aquos LC65E77UM 65 in. LCD HDTV

Sharp Aquos 65" LCD: LC65D64U DEAD no power

This TV when plugged is DEAD! No standby light. The AC enters the power control board at 120 Volts and the fuses seem to be ok. None of the PINs have any DC voltage except for PP3 which reads around 2.0 to 2.5 VDC. I am assuming this is the standby voltage, which i believe should be 5 VDC. Am i correct in assuming this and if the standby is approximate 2.0 VDC I have a bad power supply board? Any help would be appreciated.

To get the accurate values to all the pins and test points, you have to download the repair manual to this set by internet. If you wish to get some details about the voltage charts, check the site linked here. Pull up previous posts there, either by its left side bar, or view it in Timeslide option.

Unfortunately, the repair manual does not have the voltage chart.

SOURCE: have a 30" SHARP Aquos LC30HV2U that has a bad power supply. Nothing happens when I turn on the LCD - though it is getting power confirmed by green light going on but nothing on LCD. Visual inspection

You did try the CLEAR button on front of the box?
One possible idea is the cables going the box to the TV. ( might be bad )

If your sure about the problem, you can get your Service Manual here:

This with have all the schematic, diagrams, part number, and test points you need.

Hitach lcd tv dead, no standby light. Power board Vestel 17pw26-1 v4 no signs of burnout/swolen caps.

You can pick up a cheap multimeter at radio shack, or Harbor Freight (if one is in your town). Or of you know someone who has a multimeter you could borrow, that would be even better. You will want to set your meter to ac volts, and check for 110vac across the input terminal on the power supply board. I'm willing to bet you have a dead power supply.

My red standby light is off, checked the cord, had a power surge recently?

Good day.

This is the D.I.Y steps for troubleshooting.
  1. Open the back cover of your TV by removing all screws.
  2. Power ON the TV to perform a voltage data.
  3. Check the input voltage of power supply. It should have a 120 or 240 volts ac depends on the voltage supply from your power source. If none replace the power cord or check the main source.
  4. If you have input voltage in the power supply, check the output voltage on the power supply. It should have 5vdc,for the system board,12vdc,for the sound and 24vdc,for the back-light inverter.
  5. If you don't have output voltage from power supply board.Unplug the power cord first to check the fuse if busted, check some transistors and diodes if shorted, check some open/change value resistor and also look for leak/bulge on top capacitor.
  6. If you found any of the defective parts that mention on the step # 5 replace it with the same type and ratings.
  7. After that, try plug-in again the power cord then test the output voltage that mention on step #4.
Thank you for using FixYa and good luck.I hope this solution helps you.

Dead set no standby light power ok up to

Could be anything! From a main board to a power supply. I recommend getting service on it from a authorized sony service center. If standby light doesn't appear at all for any given time, then it maybe the power supply.

No power/RCA ctc187cl

Check for 5 volts present at pins of EEPROM IC. ( 8 pin-center
front) = no 5 volts = Re-check power supply components such as AC in resistor 2.7 Ohm ?....Or 5 volts ok,then suspect EEPROM corrupted........part # 223957 ( install 8-pin socket, then re-plug in original, if that doesn't clear it, plug in
new part) Use pre-programmed after-market replacement,if you
can get it.....Let me know....T.
