You might have a couple of dry joints, and you might also have a bad PTC inside that degauses the screen when tv starts up. Please try another good tech for a service. Patrick

Black vertical band on tv screen

Actually I am not sure about this one, but I like to suggest to leave the unit running for at least 24 hours and see what happens. Going by the amount of time it has not being used it is hard to tell what actually occurs, the advice is to leave it on standby for any period of time. See what happens anyway, you can't do anymore damage than you already got can you? Else, keep switching it on and off, it may clear it that way. If you are able get a update on-line, re-program you tv it worked for my Samsung 39 inch. Good Luck

LG 55LH40 is showing only the top quarter of the picture. The rest of the image is blank. It functions this way on all inputs.

Large TV screens are made up of 3 or more sections, and each has a separate driver board controlling it, both on the circuits inside, and in the actual TV thin film screen panel (that's the clear panel that actually has the picture appear on it, then a back light shows it up).
To know which part has gone faulty is very difficult to diagnose without the right electronic testing equipment and training in tracking electronic faults down. But you can narrow it down quickly as there are only a few simple parts inside a TV.
If possible, you need to track down either the correct driver board and try replacing that, or unfortunately it can be the actual screen itself has gone faulty (this is rare but does happen).
As an example, I had a 32 inch TV, perfect working order back in 2007. My house electric got a power spike and the electric all went off. When it came back on, the TV only had one 3rd working (top 3rd). I had to change the whole TV front panel - all of the other parts were still perfect. To learn about TV repairs I took the display apart to track the fault piece by piece - I was told it wasn't possible by 3 engineers in shops, but it can happen, the actual flat panel was at fault, and a replacement at a yard sale for $15 fixed it again. That was a few years back and ive fixed about 30 since then, i'd say a quarter of them just needed the whole display changing (not the actual back light section or T - CON board if it's that type)
It's also possible that there is corrosion / oxidation on the screen contacts, and its easier / cheaper to try cleaning them first with appropriate electrical contact cleaner.

When i switch the power on my sony klv32a400a goes back into standby mode. wats the problem?

over current protection (OCP) or over voltage protection (OVP), or a few other possibilities but you need to clarify. Does the screen show anything at all?

Is the standby light flashing? if so how often (3 times then rest then 3 times etc or onced every second continuous. The problem is going to take some one who knows how to use a multimeter and probably a soldering gun. My suggestion is to get the information on what is wrong(like you are trying to do) find out the true cost of replacement parts and if you think it is worth it to fix then you are at least armed with good knowledge so someone doesnt try to rip you off when you go to get it serviced.
Please remeber though that even the best answer from anyone online is based on information without actually seeing the unit so we can always miss something or it could be more than just what is told to you. All I am saying is dont accuse your local repair man of cheating you until you have all the facts.. I only say this because I told a friend what was wrong with his LCD and I was right but there was also another problem I did not know about. He was angry at the guy who did the repairs until I looked over the unit and sure enough the repair guy was right. I called the repair guy and apologized (as did my friend) and it was all fine and dandy but it made me think how many times something like that may have happened to the honest joe doing his job and then getting called a crook or just losing business through no fault of his own.

ANYWAYS. SORRY FOR THE BOOK I HAVE WRITTEN.

Good luck

put tv on blue screen and leave it on blue screen for a few hours it should clean up the burn in abit. on some screens they don't like to have the same screen on and no movement some tvs have a built in screen adjuster it flickers a bit so much that you dont even see it but its to stop this from happening to the screen.

Can I use parts from a BEKO 32WLU530HID TV?

I guess that the power supply is faulty, look for bad caps.
If both power supply's are the same is easy to see when both sets are open.Compare the numbers on the print.

Picture went off on rca flat screen while watching still have sou

That probably happened because something hit the TV and broke the line for pictures to get through, or because a wire in you TV is bad and doesn't wanna work. This happened to my TV every few days. What I did is give it a few whacks every now and then on top of it and the vision came back, but don't try that if you think your TV is fragile. Yes I know its sounds stereotypical but it actually sometimes works.

Well, good luck!

Panasonic Compact Audio system SA-HM32

Hi Desmondia,

Sorry but the bulb replacement is not a simple as it used to be....The screens on modern sound systems are made up of small crystals that glow when activated by electrical current of very small strength..
These are called LCD Liquid Crystal Displays, or could be very small chips like Light Emitting diodes arranged in an alphabet configuration. I dont know which one your particular amplifyer system has,,,
These dispalys are controlled by a fast scanning oscillator which up dates the screen dispay so fast that the screen display shows the information you need to see.
In fact the screen information is going on and off so fast you dont even know its happening .

Anyway to keep this story short the screen display in your case
appears to have stopped scanning..Its a major repair job...
needs to go to a reapair shop for a cost quote to fix for you.

Cheers From YUBEUT
