Go to this link and register for free 1 year license of your avast software.. they ll send the key to your mail.. insert that key to avast antivirus software..and refer the following link http://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=459 to know the step by step instruction to know how to insert the key to the avast interface...

if you are using a avast free antivirus
then there is no need for the license file
if you are using avast antivirus pro or internet security
then you would have received a email from element5 from where yuou can download the license file
if you do not have that email, then go to the following site
http://www.avast.com/resend-license.v2.php
enter the email address that you have registered with avast and type the security code
and click on resend license key
you will receive the license file on your email
you can download that and actiavte your product
