Question about Hampton Bay (261025) Dual Mount Ceiling Fan

Open Question

E106510 I have an e106510 ceiling fan/light. I am trying to locate the double light bulb socket and globe (approx 7-5/8" OD) for this unit. There is a sticker on the unit that has the above number and Angelo Lighting Mfg. name. There is also a number 0012491 on a sticker. I am not sure what this is. Where can I purchase the double socket and globe? Thank you, Rev. Jay Ferrand

SOURCE: Ceiling fan lights do not work

You may have shorted out the light kit. Did you remove the other bulbs and put in new ones? They may have all blown when you heard the noise. Try that first, and if it still doesn't work, you may have to buy a new light kit. They are not expensive, and you can buy one without the glass bulb holders or cans, whatever you have. Then you can still use yours after you install the new light kit. Good luck!

SOURCE: light bulb burned out in ceiling fan

THE FAN IS ACTUALLY A WINWARD II BY HAMPTON BAY. ACCORDING TO INSTRUCTION MANUAL YOU TURN THE GLASS BOWL COVERING THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY UNTIL IT MAKES CONTACT WITH A COUPLE OF GROOVES IN THE RIM AND THE GLASS ASSEMBLY SHOULD RELEASE. I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY HELP FROM "FIXYA" BUT MAYBE THIS INFO WILL HELP SOMEONE ELSE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE MODEL # OF THE HAMPTON BAY FAN WAS 523 342. (I FOUND MY INSTRUCTION MANUAL AND THIS IS WHERE I GOT MY INFO)

I think you have already figured out what the problem most likely is; 60 watt bulbs. Down-size the wattage or install 'energy saver' bulbs if they will fit the application. Instead of counting on these units for extra lighting, perhaps think about Track lighting to fill in those ares that need more but subtle light.
Good luck. :)

SOURCE: Changing light bulb in ceiling fan

At the top of the pull chain there is a metal piece; this is threaded on a bolt. Unscrew the metal piece and lower the globe to expose the bulbs then remove and replace the bulb(s). I recommend flourescents as they are more economical, run cooler and last linger than incandescents (regular bulbs).

Try putting on rubber gloves and turn the globe clockwise. The globe has a very smooth surface and is impossible to turn with bare hands because you cant get a grip on it.

Hunter ceiling fan light turns on but goes out until it cools then comes back on by itself

The globe getting too hot is common with discharge lights but have standard lights. What type of circuit protection do you have as normal overload trip the breaker. I would suggest experimenting with one globe in to see if the problem persists. If it stays on you have to go down to 25w globes - which would still be a touch high at 75w but better than 120w. This could be too dark for you though so an additional wiring solution might be needed

Light fixture on ceiling fan goes off and on

Check the bulbs to see if they are secure but...
Probably after years of use the optional light kit plug has become loose from the vibration. To fix this, turn off the electricity to the unit (circuit breaker is best) take of the bulbs and globes and reove the lighting kit from the bottom of the fan and look for a plug/socket combination and check to see it is secure. There will be many wires and if a remote controlled unit it maybe confusing as to which wires are which yet all should be secure. Retighten the lighting kit, replace the globes and bulbs and turn on the breaker and try again. Good Luck!

It might not be the bulb but the socket (If you have incandescent sockets). Inside each socket there is a piece of metal that the bulb connects with. Check to see if it is flattened out. Turn the power off then get a flat head screwdriver and pry that piece of metal back outward. Turn the power back on and screw the bulb in slowly till the bulb lights.
