Question about IBM eServer xSeries x206m

1 Answer

CP:B9 issue During the POST, approx. 30-60 sec after the power on, both fans start to rotate on a max revs, the orange light (!) goes on and the system halts at the blank screen with CP:B9 in the upper right corner. This happens after the initial screen with the blue IBM logo. What might that be?

Tks, Walter. You know, it might be the reason. But, why the max revs, then? I did try to replace the power supply cable, though...What should I try, then?

That sounds like a power issue. Either your power supply or motherboard is having a problem distriubuting voltage to your computer.

If you are comfortable getting inside the PC here's some things you can try.

  1. Take the side panel off and pull the memory sticks out. Now turn the PC on without the sticks in it and listen for a screaming banshie. If you hear the screaming banshie it means *********** board should be okay. If you hear no noise at all there you may have a bad mother board. 6df7c5d.jpg
  2. While inside the PC unplug all cables for about 10 seconds and plug them back in. Do this one at a time so you don't loose track of where they go. Also carefully pull the processor out and plug them back in. Turn PC back on and test. 3513f7b.jpg
  3. Unplug the power supply from the mother board and plug it onto power socket by itself without having anything connected to it and see if it runs okay on it's own. If not it's probably bad.
  4. Last but not least If you know how to boot the PC into the BIOS configuration do so and check what temperature the PC is set to shut down at.

Hope this was helpful.
Good Luck

SOURCE: IBM server x3400 not starting

Hi,
This is a Planner issue (Mother Board) . Open side cover and investigate capacitor status . Probably some capacitors are bulged . Check it and replace if necessary .
Good Luck

SOURCE: IBM System x3400 M3 7379 not booting displays orange colour (!), hangs at EFI Initialization what might be the problem. Thanks in advance.

The is an known issue on IBM M3 server models . It could either be a Motherboard or memory issue .
Check if there any amber on Memory . If there clean it and refix . Check amber comes again . If there replace memory .
If there is no amber on memory , then it could be a motherboard (UEFI firmware hang ) issue.
Replace it

Dishwasher intake/drain light is on, removed and cleaned intake valve, no obstructions. Tripped the breaker to the power supply to no avail....any suggestions?

Hi

Intake/Drain light flashing means an issue while draining. You would need to check for air gap on the dishwasher, it may be clogged. It prevents dishwasher from draining, sometimes the drain flow is restricted due to gunk. Cleaning or bypassing the air gap will resolve the issue. If this doesn't resolve the issue then it is due to seized (or stuck) drain pump. Disconnect the power to the dishwasher or turn off the breaker to the dishwasher. Tip machine on its back; remove screws that hold the bottom tray on. Remove the hoses to the main motor, remove electrical connections & remove motor (single screw holds motor, it is on the outside back of the machine). Try to rotate the motor (use WD40 is necessary). If you cannot rotate it, then motor will be required. If the error still appears then cancel the error message, turn the rotary selector switch to "Stop/End" or press the "Start/Stop" switch for approx. 5 secs. Switch the appliance off and then back on again. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Hi,problem can be solved. What particular code is it displaying?.
It all determines the type of code error,so we can be able to know how to describe the solution better.

But here are some codes for you to check out and see if one of them is the fault of the machine.

  • E000: The main thermistor reading does not reach 40ºC 14 sec after the fixing heater goes ON. (fixing low temperature error)
  • E001: The main thermistor reading reaches 220ºC or higher.
  • E002: A start-up fault is detected under any of the following conditions of the main thermistor
  • E003: After the end of the WAIT period, the main thermistor reading is 100ºC or lower. In standby, the sub thermistor reading is 50ºC or lower.
  • E004: At time of initialization, the ZEROXI signal of the power supply is not detected. During temperature control, the ZEROXI signal does not arrive for 3 sec continuously. A short circuit is detected in the triac
  • E010: A specific revolution is not detected from the main motor rotation detection signal.
  • E100: When the scanner motor is started up, the BD input signal does not arrive within a specific period of time.
  • When the scanner motor is started up, the motor rotation is too fast, and fails to reach a specific revolution within 20 sec at time of deceleration. While the scanner motor is rotating at a specific speed, the BD input signal cycle is not within a specific range (±2%) for an equivalent of 10 mm (print distance). While the scanner motor is rotating at a specific speed, the BD input signal cycle is not as indicated (±2%).During the WMUPR period after the power switch has been turned on or the front cover/left cover has been opened/closed, the drum unit is absent.
  • E719: The communication between the card reader and the image processor PCB is disrupted.
  • E805: After the heat discharge fan drive signal is generated, the fan lock detection signal does not arrive for a specific period of time.
  • E500: An error has occurred in the communication between the machine and the finisher twice continuously.
  • E514: The stack delivery belt does not reach home position when the stack handling motor (M2) is driven for a specific time (CW; if the same condition occurs during stack delivery, a jam will be identified).
  • E530: The rear aligning plate does not reach home position when the rear alignment motor (M4) has been driven for a specific time. The rear aligning plate does not reach home position when the rear alignment motor (M4) has been driven for a specific time.
  • E531: The stapler does not leave the stapling home position sensor (S13) within 0.5 sec after the stapler motor (M6) is rotated CW.The stapler does to return to the home position sensor (S13) within 0.5 sec after the stapler motor (M6) is driven CW and, in addition, it does not return to the sensor within 0.5 sec after the motor is driven CCW thereafter.
  • E537: The front aligning plate does not reach home position when the front aligning motor (M3) is driven for a specific time. The front aligning plate does not leave home position when the front alignment motor (M3) is driven for a specific time.
  • E551: The delivery fan rotation signal (FNALCOK) does not arrive within 1 sec when the heat discharge fan drive signal (FANON) is sent.
  • E577: The return roller does not reach home position when the delivery motor (M1) is driven for a specific time. (If the same condition is detected while alignment takes place in the direction of feed, a jam will be identified.)
  • E580: The stack tray upper limit sensor (S1) goes ON while the stack tray up/ down motor (M5) is in operation. The clock signal of the stack tray up/down clock sensor (S9) is not detected 15 times or more within 0.8 sec while the stack tray up/down motor (M5) is in operation. It does not reach the stack tray paper height sensor (S10) 2 sec after the stack tray up/down motor (M5) rotates for ascent. It does not leave the stack tray power height sensor (S10) 2 sec after the stack tray up/down motor (M5) starts to rotate for descent.
  • E585: The stack retaining lever does not reach home position when the stack handling motor (M2) has been driven for a specific time (at the start of motor CCW rotation). (If the same condition is detected during stack delivery, a jam will be identified.).
