Mower won't start with ignition key

Mower will no longer start with key after power washing (a few weeks ago). I replaced solenoid, voltage regulator, ignition switch and the battery is fully charged. Starts and runs fine when started with rope pull.

SOURCE: Lawn mower died. Pull rope locked up

remove the spark plug and try to pull the rope. Sometimes the coil can get loose and wedge against the flywheel. if that's not the problem then pour a little oile in the spark plug hole, let it set a bit, if it still won't turn over then you have an internal engine problems. Not very common but it can happen

SOURCE: Pull rope seems to be locked up...won't pull

make sure you can turn the blade by hand, make sure grass isn't stopping the blade after that make sure the break cable isn't bad, sometime's the cable don't disengage the break from the flywheel. Hope this works.

SOURCE: john deere f525 mower, wont start, battery good,

The front mount mower has a safety switch on the park brake linkage and the seat belt linkage as well as on under the seat which is for the PTO,The one under the seat on the linkage just behind the battery is a culprit that needs adjusting to get the PTO to engage but it sounds like you need to deal with the seat switch circuit or replace the seat switch.

Ryobi riding mower wont charge old or new battery!

Try jumpering battery directly to the starter terminal. The ignition switch or start relay could be the problem.

I have a 2004 Saturn vue...I replaced starter last year...but about a week ago I had to turn the key on and off multiple times and then finally starts...now it wont start...battery is good startergood

It's possibly the ignition switch or the battery cable going to the starter . Would need to do some testing to say for sure . Can you do electrical testing ? Have someone turn the key to the start position and someone check for B+ voltage at the S terminal on the starter solenoid . If B+ voltage is there , voltage drop test the starter circuit . How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit Starter Voltage Drop

Husqvarna YTH20K46 no power. HELP!

Not turning off sounds like an ignition switch problem. Not starting - then I think you should check the Low Tension side of the solenoid again to make sure there is current from the switch. If the solenoid's OK, the battery's fully charged with all the connections clean and tight, then it has to be the starter motor or engine. Check you can turn the engine by hand, if so then I would guess, it's probably the starter motor.

I have a yth20k46 and when I turn the switch it won't turn over. I replaced the battery and spark plugs. what might be the problem

I also have a YTH20K46. During last mow (last week), I tried to turn off mower and would not turn off by key. I had to put it down to choke and then stand up. It created a backfire. Today I went to start it, now won't start. It does not turn over. Hour meter has no power. Tested battery & solenoid. Power to both. Key switch works fine. Any suggestions? Just had it serviced a few months ago. Oil, gas and all other things seem fine. Checked wiring, seems fine. Nothing melted or cut. Please help!

Won;t crank

Hi, if the car engine fails to crank, there is a fault in one of the components in the battery/ignition/starter circuit. Low battery (Check battery voltage, recharge if low, or jump start with another vehicle or battery charger). Bad starter relay/solenoid (Check for voltage at relay, if relay has voltage but there is no "click" when key is turned to start, replace relay). Bad ignition switch (Check to see if voltage reaches starter relay/solenoid when turn to start. If not, check for open P/N switch and brake or clutch pedal switch. Replace ignition switch if defective).

No power

I think you should check the charging system. You said you replaced the battery a few weeks ago. Even with the charging system not working, the battery might have enough power for a dozen or more start-ups; but using the lights may have drained what power was left. Get or borrow a battery charger and charge your battery. If mower then seems to be working fine, measure the voltage across the battery when the mower engine is running at normal speed (not idling). It should be 13.5 volts or more if the charging system is working. 12 volts or less means it's probably not working. Either test or replace the regulator/rectifier. Please rate me if you think this helped, thanks!

MY Kawasaki FH500V commercial lawn mower engine won't start.

Try cleaning the throttle body. If it runs on carb-cleaner being sprayed into the intake then you have a fuel delivery problem, if not you'd be more inclined to more serious mechanical failure. I assume if you use it every day you do the regular oil changes, air filter cleaning, and air-cooling system cleaning, correct? Please indicate if you had a white smoke, blue smoke, or black smoke from the mower too. The motor spins freely when attempting to start, and just doesn't fire, correct?

Murray 17.5 HP mower - no noise when turning key? Maybe ignition?

Look near the starter solenoid for a fuse. It is probably under the hood near the steering column. If fuse is good, problem is likely a safety switch.
