Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: 40 inch lcd blue line vertical

The display screen is made of a matrix of elements connected to cables along the side and top. On your unit, some of these many, tiny connections are making contact intermittantly thus losing the elements in that area. These contacts are held in place with just pressure and if that is disturbed, you lose that line of elements. Try squeezing the cabinet of the TV on the outside at the top in the area of the loss and see if that makes a difference. May have to go inside and see if the contact assembly is disturbed or warped or something.
Hope ya fix it!

SOURCE: hdtv lcd 40 in. broken screen face

You can have them repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new tv. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one. After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.

SOURCE: My SOny Bravia 40 inch LCD TV has a vertical line

Hi,

It could be 1 of 4 things:
1. One of the ribbon cables has worked itself loose (Simple Fix)
2. One of the assembly boards maybe faulty
3. The driver board which feeds the panel maybe faulty
4. The panel is faulty

The driver board in the UK costs approx £70 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

All other parts are between £80-160 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

The panel will cost approx 50-75% of what the TV was worth when you bought it - "Repair versus Replacement"

Thanks

SOURCE: 3 year old Samsung 40 inch LCD TV will not turn on

The problem is 4 capacitors on the power supply board. Just had mine done under warranty. They (Sears) replaced the whole power board but you can get larger capacitors and just replace those for alot cheaper if not under warranty.

It sounds that the main system memory IC to this set is faulty. Check and replace it. It is a very small IC, having 8 solder terminals, can be located very near to main system control IC. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here.Pull up older posts.

Stuck on scan

It may be that the power cut was the result of a power surge. It may be that the outage has caused damage to the components of
your tv.If it does not return to normal you will need to get a very GOOD technician to diagnose the fault. It may be that the tv can be repaired, it may not ...but eirher way I would think about seeing whether the power company is liable for the damage.
The fault is almost certainly something that needs to be checked out by a pro

U should send the TV back to the store of purchase if you still have warranty.
Usually after 5 years this problem sometime occurs on plasma TV's. I'm not sure about the LCD screens.
