12V Relay trigger wont work

I have a Dell 5100MP Projector and i am trying to use the trigger function on the projector to lower to screen. I hooked everything up accordingly but it wouldn't work. I checked to see if i could pick up a voltage at the plug in the projector and didn't get a reading. Does anyone know of a way that fixes the trigger.

SOURCE: Won't project; can't find signal

What worked for me was instead of pressing Fn while pressing F8. I pressed Fn and F4. The first time doing this my laptop screen went black, but the image was projected on to my projector. When I did this once again the image then appeared on both my laptop and on my computer.

My dell 5100mp is not getting signal from my IBM laptop

Check your VGA cable (from laptop to projector) to be certain it is secure. Wiggle it to see if anything changes. Could be faulty.

Check the Function keys on the top row of your laptop. Note which key has "CRT/LCD" or an icon of a display. Hold down your Fn key and press that key. Try again and again and hopefully you will get a display from your projector.

Hope this helps.

Dell 5100MP displays bands of color at the top and bottom of the screen. Light appears to show through the upper portion of the lens.

you have a collapsed light tunnel. it'll need to be replaced. but since dell doesn't sell the parts, you'll have to send it to them for repair.

I connect the projector to my dell laptop and "no signal" displays and no picture.

You need to hold down Fn (function) button and press F4 to route the video signal to the video port. It may be F5., If you have done that check to see if you selected the correct input on your projector through its menu.

Dell 2200mp searching for signal

One problem may be that you must tell the PC to send the signal to the external monitor. Usually, if you hold down the function button and hit the F5 key you will see several options on the screen. (Other laptops use different function keys. Look for the one that shows two tv screens. You want the option which shows the laptop and the external monitor.) To advance between options, you hit the F5 button again and it moves over to the next option.

My computer needs me to lower the resolution on the laptop in order to send the signal to the projector. If you also need to do that, you can do it in Control Panel, Display, and Settings, and lower the resolution on screen number 1.

Doing both of these things should work.

Also, confirm that it is finding signals by hooking it to a DVD or video and see if it finds the signal through one of the other ports.
