SOURCE: Does a 2004 polaris Sportsman 600 Twin need valve

Should not need to be adjusted under normal use.
My brother in law runs 4 of these machines on their 30,000 acre ranch and put about 4,000 miles a year on them - they never have to adjust the valves

SOURCE: i have a 2005 polaris sportsman 600 twin the stays

best thing to do is to check front diff fluid these old dogs get rusty if not changed often in fact polaris has now said every 100 hours right with your oil if the oil is bad try filling the case with some minirerl spirits it may break the rollars free if not pull it out and see what you need for parts make sure to check for power at the center diff wiring before anything is pulled out switch off no power swith on 12 volts

SOURCE: oil change on Polaris 2004 ATV 600 twin

i have heard that you only drain the oil from the oil resevoir. there is a 14mm bolt at the bottom of the resevoir. remove this and the oil should drain. you may also turn the engine over a few turns to evacuate the remaining oil in the cranckcase. change the filter, fill the oil rsevoir to the specified amount and you should be good to go.

SOURCE: 2003 Polaris 600 Twin --

On the Polaris twin motors the drain plug is located on the bottom of engine. There is a hole in the skid plate for access to plug. The plug will take a 6mm hex wrench or socket. On the plug there is also a sealing washer, make sure the washer stays on the plug or put it back on if it drops in the oil. Any questions let me know, good luck, Daniel.

Reverse issues

i believe that your reverse gear is a kit. Now they are not gear driven, they actually run the motor in reverse to back you up, anyways, if you look down from your reverse lever, you will see a adjuster nut or guide bolt. try adjusting that some. you definitely don't want to keep grinding those gears!! reverse kits are around 500 bucks. Good luck
