Question about Hotpoint RB790SHSA Electric Kitchen Range
Our stove started beeping randomly. the only solution we have found is to take the fuse out. when we put it back in there is a period of a few ours of peace and then it starts up again. otherwise oven and range work fine. ????????
SOURCE: Hotpoint Gas oven doesn't light
Sounds like the oven ignitor is weak. If everything else is working it must be a bad ignitor. These are usually easy to replace and can expect to pay $70-$100 for the part. Check to see if it glows when in bake mode first. If it does then replace the ignitor. You can look at the ignitor, when not on, if it is white-ish then it needs replace or if it doesn't have a full glow, can compare to broil ignitor, then it needs replaced. Let me know if you have further questions.

SOURCE: self cleaning hotpoint stove
Sometimes in self clean it can burn out the element. Need to check the element with an ohm meter and see if it shows resistance. If it shows open then the element is bad. If it shows resistance then the element is ok. Next see if you are getting 220 volts to the element when in bake mode. If you are not getting 220 volts then the control is bad.
