Question about Samsung HCN4226W 42" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

3 Answers

Screen Voltage I am getting random, faint, pencil lines, as well as thick shadows that stretch across the screen like when there is white lettering and a dark background (terrible description, I know). I have been told this has to do with the Screen Voltage. When I take the front cover off there is the black box on the front where you can adjust the colors and I was told you can adjust the voltage there to but there are no knobs to turn. Where else would they be. This is a Samsung HCN4226W.

Re: Screen Voltage

Yea that is. The focus is the bottom three and the screen is the top three. Its looks like there is no way to turn the three screen ones. Also does adjusting the screen voltage sound like its the fix to my issue?

Getting shadows and color is tinting green and yellow also there is a line across the top of screen

Locate flyback transformer. It's plastic cylindrical-shaped thing with one thin and one thick red High-Voltage wires coming from the top of it. Turn the board it soldered to around and re-solder all of it's connections applying generous amount of solder. Locate three gray-brown colored square shaped parts located right next to flyback transformer. They soldered in a row. It's fuses. Find the open one (or two) and replace them with 0.5A rated.
That should do it.
Good luck!
