Re: screen colors

Possibly screen color depth is set to 16 colors. - open control panel display - settings tab, slide the color depth to 16 bit. - change resolution to 800 x 600 for now. reboot and see if that does the trick, then readjust settings to your tastes.

When I turn my monitor on I see the color bars for about 2 secs and then the screen goes blank . When the color bars are visible, they are slowly moving to the right side of the screen .

The square color bar with red/blue/green bar is on when you first turn on the monitor, it wil disappear and go into standby mode if it does not receive the video signal from the PC. Try it with another PC first and make sure the cable is good. If it still does not work then you will have to open it up.

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Color flashes magenta

You have check all the pin on the video cable? Try it on another PC? Did you change all the CAPS as a set on the DC side for the 5 and 12vdc section, bad cap can look OK but will have high ESR.

Monitor is changing colors and won't wake up

This problem should not be only with your monitor, but also with your video card. You might have left one image sitting for long hours. There is no specific solution, but for Lcd users, you can try this. Leave the monitor off for few hours without any connection, maybe power chord or vga/dvi/hdmi cable. If this doesn't fix then the problem must be from your video card. You can try the monitor on another system to make sure, which one is the culprit. Your last choice is to reset the bios, to do this, remove the bios battery and leave it for few minutes outside (2 mins will do) and put it back. Reboot your system, this will fix your problem. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Inout signal out of range Answer Failed: retry

It shows out of range because the PC is sending out the video signal that is higher than the monitor can display, you need to set the PC video resolution to the native resolution: 1024 x 768 @60Hz. You can reboot the PC into save mode (hitting F8 key while booting up) then set the resolution to 640 x 480 (try 1024 x 768 if it allows you to do so), reboot and reset the resoltion to 1024 x 768 @60Hz.
