Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Can not open banks

I need to ask you this. Normally one bank can't be closed.
You may need a soft or hard reset. Here's some reading and instructions.
Please use this first!

resetting your scanner
1. Turn off your scanner, and then turn it on again.

2. Insert a pointed object into the reset hole on the back

of the scanner. Then, gently press and release the reset

button. Pressing reset does not clear the scanner's
working memory or the V-Scanner folders.

If this doesn't work here's step two! CAUTION. THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING, but it MAY Fix the Problem!!

Initializing your scanner clears all information stored in your
scanner's working memory. Initialize your scanner only when
you are sure it is not working properly. V-Scanner memory is
not affected when you initialize the scanner.

1. Turn off the scanner, and turn it on again. First, the DSP
boot version, and then Welcome To Digital Trunking appears.

2. Press 0. The following messages appear on the display:

System Tests

Select Test
Exits if no
Key Press

3. Press 1. The following messages appear on the display:

Factory Init
Erase Memory
ENTER if Yes
CL to EXIT

4. Press ENT. The following messages appear on the display:

Initializing
Clr Main Mem
V-Scan is OK
Please Wait

5. Do not turn off your scanner until the initialization is
complete. When the initialization is complete, M000 and
Bank 0 Ch 00 appear on the display.

If that doesn't help. Please get it serviced. I do recommend to get a DSP Firmware Update for it. The download is free from RadioShack but the cable and software is not.

I hope this helps and solves this problem.
btw.. if you don't have the product manual http://support.radioshack.com/manuals/ome20-496.pdf
You will need Adobe reader or equivalent!!

Scanner problems Its stays on Auto-Scann and buttons dont work

Resetting or initializing the scanner may clear your problem.

To RESET the scanner:

- Turn the power OFF, then turn it ON again.
- Insert a pointed object (paper clip end, ballpoint pen tip, etc.) into the RESET opening on the side of the scanner, then press and release the button inside the opening.

If the above doesn't clear the problem, try the more drastic INITIALIZE procedure. NOTE: this step will erase all data that you have programmed into the scanner and restore it to original factory settings. To INITIALIZE the unit:

- Turn the scanner OFF then ON again. The scanner briefly displays the DSP boot version, then "Welcome to Digital Trunking" displays.
- Press "0". The scanner displays "System Tests Select Test Exits if no Key Press"
- Press "1". The scanner displays "Factory Unit Erase Memory ENTER if Yes CL to Exit"
- Press ENTER. The scanner displays "Initializing Clr Main Mem V-Scan is OK Please Wait"
- Do not power the scanner OFF until INITIALIZE is complete. When the process is complete the scanner will display "M0000" on the top line and "Bank 0 Ch 0" on the bottom line.

If neither of the above steps works for scanner I recommend that you take it to your nearest Radio shack and arrange certified repairs.

Need the manual for your scanner? You can download/print it here:

My behringer ub2442fx pro has the numbers 88 flashing red in the display and a clicking sound every time they flash. any idea what the problem is?

A high likelyhood of a power supply problem.

I had a similar thing on a GX110 and it was an electrolytic cap that filters for the 5 volt regulator on the DSP board.

As the DSP starts up, the load on the supply sucked it below the operating point and caused the DSP to keep reseting. The display did flash.

The unit will have to be opened and trpunbleshooting done to find and repair the problem.
