Question about Bosch Nexxt WTMC 3300 Electric Dryer

Overheating error Hello My new Bosch dryer constantly gives us an overheating error,(E:01) suggesting that it is not venting out properly. We have had the duct cleaned, nothing in it anyway. The venting duct from dryer to exterior of house makes one 90 degree turn and then runs straight up for 20 feet, there should be no problems. thanks Linda

These items have already been done or checkeda: 1. vent hose is less than two feet and it is clean(to outside). 2. temperature sensor probes one in back at heating element and one in front by the lint filter have been checked- has the temp rises resistance increases on both of them and visa versa. 3. unit has been grounded. 4. The element turns off and on during drying process. 5. when first starting and dryer is cool it will dry one load of clothes, it also seems to work for at least the first part of the cycle, until clothes began to get dry then it over heats. display shows E01 and will not run until it has set for about an hour.

    Any Ideas?

This sounds like a fault with your master board even with a 90degree bend it should be ok could have 2 90s and it would work ok if u have manufacturers warranty and it is still ok then get them out as if the master board has gone it will be expensive

What does E:01 on the Bosch Nexxt Premium dryer mean?

Hello Christie, welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a Bosch dryer, correct ?

Well the E01 error on these machines indicates an air flow problem...specifically (usually) the lint screen, but can be a build up of lint in the venting as well. Start by checking the lint screen.

This from the horses mouth...errr Bosch ;o)

My dryer runs for several minutes, then starts beeping and an error code E: 01 is displayed. I've tried unplugging it for 30 minutes, but that was no help. Any ideas?

This means that the dryer is not able to exhaust correctly. Often times this is caused by kinked or blocked vent behind the dryer. If that looks ok, the vent in the wall may need to be cleaned. In this case or in most a professional dryer vent cleaner would be needed to clean the dryer vent.

One last thing you can check is the lint screen. On Bosch dryers the lint filter will become clogged from the dryer sheets. Remove the lint filter and run water through it. If water runs through, the lint filter is good.

I know this unit well and can assists you with any repair related question you have.

Dryer runs for approx 30 min. then turns off and lint light flashespush to restart it comes on for 1 second then turns off let it set for 30 min then turns back on Bosch model# wtmc3300us/01 vent was...

our dryer has some internal ductwork. If it gets clogged, your dryer can't dry properly. In most dryers, to get to the internal ductwork to clear the clog, you have to substantially disassemble the dryer. A quick way to check for internal clogs is to remove the lint filter and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the duct. If it looks clogged and you can't clear it using your vacuum.

On my Bosch Nexxt 500 Series Electric Dryer keeps shutting off and gives the E-01 error we have check the exhaust air duct on back of the dryer and we have vacuumed the inside bearing shield what else...

Motor won't work
Lint screen hi-limit (thermal cutout) tripped.
Clean lint screen and clean lint and other debris from front shield, then replace hi-limit. Also check exhaust duct length & # of elbows.
Wire harness failed.
Run resistance or continuity checks to track down broken wire or connector. Replace failed wire harness.
Display shows "E:01" during drying.
Lint filter, air duct or air damper is blocked.
Air leaking past felt drum seal.
Air duct is too long, too small or has too many bends. Inadequate ventilation around dryer (i.e. in a closet).
Clean out filter, air duct and air damper.
Replace felt drum seal. If seal doesn't fit snugly onto drum, wet felt and dry it by running a timed dry cycle for 20 minutes (felt will shrink and fit drum snugly).
Shorten, enlarge, reroute and reduce # of bends in air duct. Move dryer to an area

Bosch Nexxt 500 series dryer, E:01 and lint light flashing. nothing is stuck in the door.

This indicates the sensor near the lint filter gets too hot. This is usually caused by bad air flow.
Try running the unit without the vent hose attached. If the problem goes away the problem is in the ducting.
You may need to have it cleaned out. May be lint filter is clogged due to the use of dryer sheets or fabric softener. You can try to clean the filter with Windex.
If neither one of this suggestions resolves the issue there may be a problem with the sensor, there may be heat escaping somewhere within the dryer. This is only resolved by technician.

Good Luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Leaves burn marks on clothes

Hello there:
There are normally 2 main causes for this to happen
first if it is overheating or if it is taking to long for the dryer to dry the clothes so plese check these solutions that i have provided below ok and keep me posted on this
Drying is too slow It normally takes about 45 minutes for a dryer to dry a full load. If your dryer is taking more than an hour, check these. Vent Heating element Internal ductwork Cycling thermostat Vent Frequently there's an obstruction in the vent duct from the dryer to the outside of the house. For the dryer to heat properly, the duct must be clean and clear of lint or any other substance. Heating element Internal ductwork Your dryer has some internal ductwork. If it gets clogged, your dryer can't dry properly. A quick way to check for internal clogs is to remove the lint filter and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the duct. If it looks clogged clear it using your vacuum, . Cycling thermostat Although this isn't a common problem, one of the thermostats that controls the temperature in your dryer may break and cause the dryer to heat poorly. If so, you need to replace it. It overheats Usually when an electric dryer overheats it's because of a defective cycling thermostat or a clogged vent system.

Lint filter sensor with Error Code: 01 constantly comes on after the dryer is in use for 5minutes or less. Screen is clean, vent from back of dryer to 3ft of flex hose to outside wall is spotless.

Sounds as though the sensor is dirty of faulty. I would recommend having a service tech out to check and replace. Also if the sensor is going bad, it may be tripping it due to the excessive heat.

Bosch Dryer doesn't dry clothes

With the dryer not connect to the external venting turn the dryer on and see if there is air coming out ot the vent from the dryer. Is this flow of air strong or weak?
If weak then there could be a problem inside the dryer some where. Perhaps the fan is not operating properly. Just my thoughts.

You say you have check the beginning and end of the duck vent pipe. How about seeing if it venting duct is clear from one end to the other.

Good luck

E-01 error code

hi there,

i understand your frustration here.

the E01 code means there is reduced airflow through your dryer and therefore before it overheats and starts a fire, it shuts down.

replacing boards and sensors will not fix this problem as it has nothing to do with the electronics or electrical side.

here is what you can do yourself:

check the venting on the dryer.
the vent hose runs from the back or side to the wall of your house.
it may be clogged or kinked

if everything is fine, i would contact Bosch directly and see if they have a recall or any service reports on this problem and if there are any solutions.

let me know if i can be of more assistance.
