It could be a heat issue. Overheating will shut down a system real fast. If this is new system I would recommend to contact Acer A.S.A.P. and tell them to either fix the issue or you want a new one

How do I turn on my wifi switch on my Asus F555l

Hi there,

Usually hold the [ fn ] key and the [ f2 ] together or just the [ f2 ] key depending on how your "Hotkeys" are setup. If you've had a fresh install of windows or the drivers aren't working properly you can do it manually by going into the bios like so:
Step 1
Turn on your Asus Netbook. If your netbook is already on, click the "Start" button, click the arrow next to the "Shut Down" button and then click "Restart."

Step 2
Wait for the Asus Netbook BIOS screen to appear, then press the "F2" key.
Step 3
Press the "Right" arrow to scroll over to the "Advanced" tab.
Step 4
Press the "Down" arrow until you reach the "Onboard Devices Configuration" option. Press the "Enter" key.
Step 5
Press the "Down" arrow to "Onboard WLAN" then press the "Enter" key.
Step 6
If the "Disabled" option is highlighted, press the "Up" arrow to highlight the "Enabled" option, then press the "Enter" key.
Step 7
Press the "F10" key. Press the "Enter" key to save your changes and exit the BIOS. Note: If you are missing your hotkey drivers you can find them here under the ATK section (Use the latest version) http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&s=670&m=F555LA&os=&hashedid=n%2fa

Try a system restore/recovery to a date before this issue. Have you done any hardware or software changes or updates? Graphics updates. Shut down, unplug, remove battery, plug in boot and follow this procedure: Please restart your computer, and hold down the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. On theAdvanced Boot Options select Repair your computer, and then press Enter. Select a user name, type the password, and then click OK. On the System Recovery Options menu, click System Image Recovery, and then follow the instructions. Asus Eee 1005HA hangs on boot

This works for my Asus Eee PC
1. Shut down and remove the battery.
2. Press the power button 10 times, next 1 minute pressing down.
3. Remove the memory and at the motherboard you'll see a clrrst (clear reset cmos..)
4. Short these 2 tiny pads by placing a tiny screw driver for 5 seconds, plug the power adapter and turn-on the switch, next wait at least for 3 seconds. Remove the power adapter.
5. Place back the battery and turn-on. You'll see the same screen (Logo of Asus) then patiently wait for at least 10 minutes or more. That's it.Good luck.

Weird. Make sure that there is nothing else on the screen it wants you to select. Sometimes they are not so obvious.
If not, hold the power button down until the computer shuts off and restarts, but like I said, make sure there is nothing else on the screen that it may want you to select.
Hope this helps.

Some of the windows files may have corrupt and the background services are not able to close in time.

Reinstalling the opearting system will solve your problem but still you want to continue using the operating system as it is, then for immediate shutdown, there is a free software called "Super Fast Shutdown".Below is the link.
