Motorola DVR Model DCX3501-M front display shows the channel selection. I want it to display the time of day and only show the channel selection when I am changing channels. The manual is of no help

It is a cable provider setup within the menu. On charter here are the steps - menu, TV guide main menu, setup, Cable box setup, front LED display.... I don't know what these other people are trying to answer for you...lol. You can also adjust the brightness display by pressing power followed by menu (starting with the tv on).

I have a hitachi rear projection tv. Model #51f510. Picture is bright and clear but goes to distorted when you change the channel. If you turn the tv off then on its worse. Then again turn the tv off then...

Try tapping/knocking on various parts of the TV to see it a bad solder joint is responsible. It could also be some component getting too hot or aged to the point of malfunction.
Don't waste any money trying to fix this, rear projection TVs are dinosaurs.

How do I turn off the blue on/off light on the bottom of the tv?

Not knowing the brand/model for the most part those lights cannot be turned off---what I have seen some people do is either tape over it with black tape or use something not clear to cover it so it is not so bright.

How do I turn on the keyboard lights on the Panasonic CF-53. I don't know the function.

I'm not sure if yours is the same layout as the CF-53 I use. But my F12 button has a picture of a button with light on it. I use FN-F12 to adjust the brightness of the keyboard. Mine goes through 5 brightness levels before returning to off and starting over.

Brightness of my desktop has been increased what to do??

I've recently come to the realization that my computer monitor screen is not properly calibrated. In different web forums where photos are posted, I'm noticing that I can't make out a lot of the pictures people are talking about - they're too dark. I've also noticed this when printing out CD covers - detail in the shadows that I never saw on the screen. Also, every time I show people digital photos, I have to turn up the brightness (in Photoshop) to anywhere between 25 - 50 %! Needless to say, I need to calibrate my monitor. For a test, I downloaded one of those "black level" graphs whrere the squares go from dark to light and you should be able to see every square clearly - I can only see half before they disappear into all blackness.

I have one of those old "turn of the century" big Dell Monitors that came with my original computer back in 2000. It has two "select" buttons (- +) and two "adjust" buttons (- +) with a row of icons (showing which parameter you're adjusting) with lights underneath on the left. I know that the "sun" icon is brightness and the "half moon" icon is contrast, but I don't know what the rest are.

After selecting "brightness," I hit the adjust "+" button a couple of times and I expected to see a bar graph showing my adjustment, but there was nothing, so I left it alone. I don't want to screw up my monitor so I want to make sure that I'm doing this right. It says "recall" under the select and adjust buttons with "arrows" pointing to two buttons. I assume that you press these to go back to your default settings.

So, how do I go about doing this correctly? __________________

Bright on coming lights cause me not to hardly see anything. On a dark road I cannot hardly see a curve until I'm right on top of it.

I can see either, but I'm old. Don't do this to your NV monocular, it has auto shut-off or dems the gains on the image intensifier tube. Continuing to use NV devises in bright light condition will destroy the image tube. Sorry, I don't know what type of NV monocular devise you have or who manufacture it! Please read the instruction manual. Best, stewbison.
