Question about iRiver H10 MP3 Player
The system files of the device are corrupt or something: the dictionaries work but anything related to the multimedia won't function. i went to iriver's website and used both iplus3 and iplus4 to try solving the problem, but neither will put fixware on the device like they should. My friend has the same device with the exact same problem. I can't find much support for this. I've been told i need to change the device's connect-to-computer mode from disk transfer mode (for transfering files back and forth, which works) to manager mode so that fixware can be put on the device. But neither mode allows the fixware onto the device. In disk transfer mode, the iplus4 program can see the files on the device, but in manager mode the computer doesn't ever even sense that a device has been connected. I'm stumped on this one.

My understanding, as a new user, is that IRiver plus 3 only communicates with the player via UMS mode, which is not the default. Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player only communicate through MTP mode. If you change from MTP (the default) to UMS, it will reformat the player and delete all your files.
In other words, do not use iriver plus 3 unless that is the only software that you want to use. Boing back to MTP mode after a sync or download will then delete all THOSE files you just downloaded.
I just say NO to Plus 3.

iRiver H10 - Missing System Files
You must be connected to the internet for this to work: 1.Download the MTP Firm Updater Utility from iriver website - iriverinc.com/support (Audio Jukebox --> H10) 2. Unzip file, run .exe file, go thorugh wizard (if you are not in mass storage mode, it will give you instructions on the wizard on how to change this) 3. Select Recovery 4. Finish going through wizard 5. disconnect iRiver from computer, and wait for it to update - your player should be good.
If the problem happens again, then uninstall Windows Media Player 11 from your computer and rollback to Windows Media Player 10 (you will NOT lose any songs by doing so).

OK, one day i turned on mu iriver and it's say's "system file missing to restore the system files connect to H10 to iriver and i dont know how to connect it.The other proplem when playing the music it's like a scratch CD i dont know how to fix it.

Okay, my IRiver broke with the same kind of problems but I've managed to fix it!
First off i connected the IRiver to the pc, and whilst it was connecting, pressed the 'select' button (the one on the front with the circle on it) to force it to connect.
Next i right clicked on it and selected format to wipe everything off it (just to make sure it was blank).
Next, go to www.iriver.com and on the left hand side click Support->Download and click on H10 in the product box. On that page should be a file to download called "[MTP]H10 5G/5G Pure/6G Firmware Upgrader/Recovery Tool(US & EU only)". The download icon is just underneath the title of it, so download, unpack using winrar ot winzip etc, then double click and follow the instructions.
It wiped the songs off, but i have an IRiver that works! Its an awful product in my opinion, but better to have it working than not. Can't guarentee that it'll work for everyone but it fixed mine first time.
