Question about Dryers
Dryer stops mid cycle - timer still working but the dryer stops and won't restart until completely cool when push start button hear screech slow hesitation then starts but soon stops it appears after it gets hot. Help ?
There is something causing the drive motor to bog down. This means the fan isnt spinning fast enough and the whole unit is overheating. Check for anything around the edges of the drum, coins keys etc. The squeal is the belt from the drum being stuck. See how hard it is to turn by hand.

sounds like you have a overload switch kicking out or its a thermofuse, or timer something is telling your machine its too hot or a thermofuse or some heat sensor....

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.
Loud metal-metal "screeching" sounds will eminate from the front bearing glides, (click on link below), for a picture of the glides. Link provided by www.repairclinic.com, they provide repair parts, disassembly procedures and diagrams.
You may also want to inspect for foreign objects in the front and rear drum seals and in the blower.
Drum rollers may sometimes cause loud noises also.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
If you have already tried cleaning the vent then the problem is with the Thermal fuse. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test it for continuity before replacing, if there is continuity then the problem is with the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
