Re: Sony Tv Model KV2162 M9

The SONY 2162 is a Old Warhorse. It was manufactured nearly 20 years ago. If the set is dead, and if no one has tampered with it, it can be repaired. One problem I found often in the 2162is that it's mains ON OFF switch failed regularly. check that.If you have knowledge of Solid State Electronics, please carefully open the Back Cover and first check the fuses. If they are ok, then check the SMPS switching transistor. If it is short circuited, then replace. Also check the Horizontal Output Transistor at the same time.

I have a sony 29'' crt tv . model no kv 29xr m80.when the tv statrs on it shows green led,and after few second the led glows red and it blinked for 8 times .then the tv goes in stand by mode .which section...

Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board.

Power light in front of tv not working and when i turn on the tv my stand by timer light flashes then goes out

Sony TV has a feature that if this light for several times it means there is a malfunction in one of the board/circuits inside.
In fact the number of flashing describes exactly the problem board.
If you have an user manual please go look for the troubleshooting section to find out the problem.
If you do not have the manual please visit the below web site to download manual.
I am afraid that your TV may need to go to service unless you can repair yourself.
My Regards

Dead TV, suddenly went black with a blue line across now nothing!

Thats what happened to my 42in plasma... Your circuit boards and main power boards are fired..and have to be replace.. research online to see what boards you tv needs and see if you can do it yourself.. if not call around for a specialist..

Sony KV-32WS2U TV power problem

The popping is a bad indicator, something failed catostrophically. This would not be an easy repair, I wouldnt recommend opening the tv, I would take it to a repair shop as it will require some electronic troubleshooting at the component level. Since this tv has a tube most likely there is only two boards, a main board and a kneck board, even replacing the boards is dangerous without knowing the safety precautions.

TV won't turn on

Unless you know Solid State Electronics, there is nothing you can do. At best, You could unplug the TV, remove the back cover, slide out the Circuit board, and check the fuses. They will be at the front of the Circuit board, left hand side. But in all likelihood, it is not just the fuses, the Power Regulator STR would also be short circuited (happens often in SONY TVs) and so it is best that a professional technician have a look.
