Question about Kinderkraft Vermont Crib

KIndercare convertible crib

I have a Kindercare convertible crib that I purchase second hand. It has a set of drawers on one side and the crib is convertible for an infant to toddler. I do not have instructions on how to assemble. Does anyone have assembly instructions or know of where I may find them?

Has my crrib been recalled? its fron jcpenny bright future convertable sleight 343-8200 PTD thank you

Here is a list of the cribs that have been recalled, I did not see your model on the list:

U.S. CPSC Crib Information

Also, the crib is sold under several different names, Modus Furniture is one of them and it's not listed there either.

General rule of thumb is basically that drop side cribs have been determined unsafe. Most manufacturers are providing an immobilization kit voluntarily even if their crib was not recalled. My crib is from Pottery Barn, wasn't listed on the site but they are sending out kits anyway.

If your crib is a drop side crib, I would call JC Penney to see if they are providing kits....but the answer to your question is no, it has not; but it may be in the future so I would investigate getting a kit through JC Penney.

The manufacturers are not asking for proof of purchase (many folks buy second hand cribs), they are only asking for the information on your crib.

I purchased a Ragazzi crib model 211c 7 years ago and need to convert it to a toddler bed what kit(s)can I purchase?

I purchased a generic side rail from a baby website--it just is supported under the mattress and then covers half of the front of the crib where you take off the drop side---and that worked good---now I am trying to convert mine to a regular bed--UGH!

Convert our Morigeau Lepine Crib to a toddler Bed?

I called the store in pittsburgh where we bought our crib (Babyland) - since Morigeau is out of business, they said i can either get some kind of generic metal frame adapter at any hardware store, or there is a store in chicago - they told me that the store will do wooden adapters to match the colors of the original crib. I contacted the store by email and they said they "no longer have any inventory for Morigeau", but I'm going to call them to talk with a person and see what they can do.

we are sooooo kicking ourselves for not having purchased the conversion kit when we got the crib itself. oh well...

I don't have a solution for you, but a warning. Simplicity cribs have been recalled due to potential entrapment and choking. Google "Simplicity recalls" and see if your crib has been recalled. Hope this helps!

I have a similar crib by Rita Bella. This is what worked for me.

1. Remove drawer.
2. Face crib's drop-side.
3. On left side of crib (based on you facing the drop-side) locate two allen head screws close to you. Unscrew them. A piece of wood in the front will drop. This is normal.
4. Push left side of crib outward (about 1/4") until you can see the metal pin that controls the locking function of the drop-side. It is near the bottom.
5. Pull out the bottom part of the drop-side so it's not in the plastic groove area anymore. This should get the right side out as well.
6. Tilt the drop-side -- the bottom part should swing toward you. When it is completely tilted, you will see the wooden groove in the side of the crib, and you can then remove the drop-side pretty easily.
7. Replace the screws. You may need an extra pair of hands to get all the parts in place.
8. Replace the drawer.
