I have had this diswasher less then 9 months. It has worked well until rescently. Now is is leaving food and chalky residue on silveware, plates and glasses. We do not have a water softener, but we don't have very hard water (e.g. showerheads don't clog very fast.)
I removed the brown disk-like (filter?) unit from the inside bottom of this LG 8812 DW. (Approx. 12 screws.) I can hold it in my hand and look through the fabric-like screens on the top. I can see some debris inside. But I can't figure out how to open it to clean it out. There are no more screws to remove and when I try to pry it open with a screwdriver, I leave a mark but no sign of it popping open.
1.) Can anyone post a service manual for this DW? Hopefully, it will have an exploded view of the inside of this thing.
2.) Please advice how to open this "self cleaning" filter.

- OK, I can't find a Service Manual for the LG 8812. But I found the service manual for an LDS5811 model. The exploded diagram shows that the "Filter Assembly, Mesh" can seperate from the base so I should be able to clean out the debris under the mesh screens.
I will try to pry it open with a wide putty knife without breaking things.
I am still wanting to get a soft copy of the 8812 Service Manual. Also, where are some places to order parts for the LG dishwashers?

- I am glad that your motor connection was the only problem found on your DW.
I got my hands on a service manual, but because I did not want to crack the filter assembly, I never did get the two pieces open. I just rinsed it out well and left a white rubber band stuck inside the filter.
Contact me, rotorhead@embarqmail.com, and I will email the service manual to you. Our lower arm turning problemwas resolved simply by plugging the motor electrical connection back in. it seems that vibration had caused the connection to come apart.

-   Lower arm does not rotate during wash, holes are clean, could not open/access the filter which appears dirty.-   cw4pilot

Our LG LD12AW2 has just had water flowing under from under the door and all over the floor. Seemed to not stop filling. Any ideas? This machine has had a history of replaced ciruit board and pressure case assembly. Thanks.

Heating Circuit Failure and Thermistor Trouble Error Codes. Are these two items partnered and or do you have to repair or replace both items? I hate this machine - never will buy an LG again.

I have a Maytag Quite Series 100 dishwasher. At some point during the cycle the dishwasher door comes open and water flows out. A service tech replaced the original handle, and now it always opens, seems like during the rinse cycle or wash cycle. When the tech put the new handle on, he said it was not the correct one, but it would work. I can't find the model number. The users's manual says MDB-3. My wife came up the the number 5600-A, but can't find anything with that number. Need to find the proper handle part number and how to replace it. Thank you.
