Little tykes 12v hummer needs new accelator switch

It's a Little Tikes 12v battery

mcdevito75 here, On average 6-- 8 hours, if battery is 2-3 years old you may need new battery. contact little tykes online or call them.

You have to take off the push nuts, but you will have to replace them.
The little tikes gearbox assembly can be purchased at this site http://www.shopjandl.com/
but if you just need the push nuts like I did you get them here http://www.shopjandl.com/0801-0226.html.
I had the same problem, so all I had to do has tighten up those screws and replace the push nuts.

The Little Tikes Gearbox might be bad.
The motor came loose from the gearbox on my kids hummer, so the gears were not turning right.

I got my parts from them and they helped me figure out what was wrong.

The charger will plug directly into the battery, but it must be a specific little tikes battery charger because the connectors are slightly different than other battery connections.
The battery is usually located under the hood in front. I try to charge my batteries up at least 18 hours.

The gearboxes for both hummers and peg perego gators are under the back seat.
If you hear a clicking noise It is definatly the gearbox on the gator. The hummer gearboxes sometimes come loose from the motors, so it may be as simple as tightning the motor gearbox.
Here is how you take the gearboxes out from the gator.
1. disconnect battery
2. take hinge pins out from the dump bed to access the green cover plate.
3. take a flathead screwdriver and pry around the plastic cover to expose the gearboxes.
4. take the rear wheels off and remove the rear axle.
remove the motor gearboxes (they are interchangeable)
5. install the new gearboxes making sure the wires are secure and the wheels are going in the correct direction.
6. put back together.
7. hook up battery and your good to go!
