for this you will need to send the unit into their repair at 8500 marshall drive lenexa ks 66214 4-6 week turnaround and put your name address and telephone number inside the package. if there is a cost they will send an estimate.
If it's like the one in the picture they don't have parts anymore. If it's the small unit call 800.423.3537 and ask for Michael. He can and will fix it. Alignment is 30 bucks, Lcd is 15 bucks and all other maintenance and adjustments are 15 bucks. Now this is half the price of a new unit, just to repair this one......Think about it.
Er6 is the unit has circuit board failure. This seems to happen to old units> 7-10 years< If it is this old, Bushnell won't have parts anymore. They will offer you 30 to 40% off on a new unit with state of the art technology. Go to bushnell.com and pick out something you like and call them.
Bushnell doesn't work on those anymore, but they still have the manual for them. Make sure when you hit a target you don't see a "M" next to it. This means it's reading in meters instead of yards. Hold down the "mode button" until you see "Y" (yards) if this is the case. If not, the unit will need an alignment and bushnell doesn't do them anymore. They will offer you a newer model. The Pinseeker technology is good......They have three models to choose from.
If the unit is stuck on 1888 the circuit board inside has lost its programming. Sounds like its about 10+ years old. Bushnell doesn't work on them anymore. If you use it for hunting I would suggest the Scout 1000 with ARC compensation, if you use it for golf look at the Medalist. You can see them both at bushnell.com
The hunting rangefinder will run about 250 bucks The golf rangefinder will run about 220 bucks.
This model should be about 8-9years old. The laser is getting very weak or the unit is out of alignment. Bushnell won't have parts for this anymore. I suggest buying a new one. They will offer a model that shoots at least 800 yards. If you play golf models 20-1930, 20-1354, and 20-5105 are very good. If you use it for hunting I suggest model# 20-1931, 20-1932. These model can be seen at bushnell.com good luck!! mtg
I had a similar problem the first couple of years I owned my unit. I took the battery out between uses and that avoided the problem. I also made sure that the case was tightly closed so no light gets into it when not in use. The problem is now gone.
