Monitor in out of resolution mode

We bought a samsung 19" monitor in december 2008. it was working fine until this week. after turning the computer on, the screen came up black except for the box saying "out of resolutiopn mode 1440 x 900. i have talked to samsung technicians and one from dell and no one gives me the same answer. the resolution on our computer is 1428 x 768. i cannot change the resolution. that is as high as it will go. the samsung technician says the monitor will not come up until the resolution question is solved. but why did it work at the 1428 x 768 resolution for 3 months if the 1440 x 900 is required. one person said the monitor was defective and another said we needed to get a new video card. what do you think?

The reason why might be because your video card is outputing a higher resolution then the 1440 X 900. What OS are you running and what video card do you have ?

SOURCE: widescreen resolution...

Every video card has it's max resolution. To see what your max is for the d530, if your running a version of XP. Open Control Panel. Open Display. This will open Display Properties. Click the Settings Tab. Listed there is screen resolution, sliding the marker all the way to More will give you your Max resolution. I have a high end video adapter & my max resolution only goes to 11280x1024. You may have to contact HP/Compaq. The link listed contains updated drivers for the d530 but there is a bunch listed because each d530's have different internal devices.

SOURCE: Screen goes blank when I move the mouse

Did it work properly using a VGA (analog) cable? If so, check your DVI (digital) cable against the pictures at the bottom of http://www.datapro.net/techinfo/dvi_info.html.
You probably have one of the two at the left. Each has a different bandwidth, translating to a maximum resolution. The native resolution for your monitor might be marginal if you have a single-link DVI-D cable.
My 204B seems very picky about signal-level. It blinks when connected by DVI, even though it should be fine with a single-link cable, and complains about the settings even though the settings are optimal. Maybe yours is similar. I have ordered a dual-link cable and will try that myself.

SOURCE: Resolution Issue "Not Optimum"

Hi Guys.
I have had this problem and after a bit of searching found that it is a known problem.
Give Samsung a ring and if it's in warranty they will replace it

SOURCE: monitor light blinks

have you tested the power supply connection feeds? test each connector I think you will find your power supply has failed on either the 5 volt or the 12 volt side more than likely 5 volts are down' the agp adapter needs 5 volts to run. since you have changed out every thing else I would replace that or test your dads power supply in your computer, that should do the trick

Samsung syncmaster 913v gives message ' not optimum mode"

The 913V has a native resolution of 1280x1024. If you use a higher resolution than that, you'll get slightly blurry text. If you use a lower resolution, then images will be slightly choppy around the edges.

To get rid of the message, set your resolution to 1280x1024.

In Windows XP, you do this by right-clicking on the background (desktop) and selecting "Properties" to bring up the display properties.
Select the tab marked "Settings" and look for a "Screen Resolution" slider. Move that slider to the right until it displays "1280x1024" and hit "OK"

How to change resulution when you get input not

Try starting Windows in Safe Mode. During boot, before windows starts loading, just keep tapping F8, until a menu appears in which you can select Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, set the resolution to a safe, low value in the control panel. Then reboot normally, and everything should work fine.

Not optimum mode

This means your computer windows resolution is not display in the correct resolution which your samsung LCD will take.

What you need to do it boot the computer in safe mode. (pressing F8 at start up and select safe mode) This should bring the windows to start up in the generic 800x600 resolution.

Once you are able to see the display in safe mode, go onto the display properties and change the resolution.
* right click on desktop -> properties -> settings

Samsung SyncMaster 931B

I tried both suggestions above and neither worked. 1) Hitting the monitor buttons as stated only got me a "digital" message and then the monitor went black as usual. Never got to any menu options. 2) Going into Safe Mode and changing the monitor settings or downloading/installing the correct driver didn't stick once you went back to the normal startup.

I didn't have another monitor handy to swap out so I had to be a little more creative. The only solution that worked for me is re-booting (F8 during startup) into the mode "Enable VGA Mode". This allowed me to go into the normal desktop with a screen resolution of 800x600. I went online, found the driver, downloaded it to the desktop. Deleted the video driver (Device Manager), installed the downloaded version, rebooted and....no problems.
I have Windows XP. Hope I've helped someone today. :)
