I have a krups 574 blender. The male part of the gear that inserts into the jug is made of rubber and was shaved off one time when the jug was not properly attached before the blender was turned on. I would like to order the part which I believe is $10 but I believe I need to undo the screws at the bottom of the blender to detach the gear. The screws seem to require a special tool. How would I locate such a tool?
I carved off the rubber with a knife; inserted a flathead screwdriver throught the slot in the bottom to hold the gear in place; using pliers I unscrewed (COUNTERCLOCKWISE) the rubber gear.
This method worked well. I was having a hard time cutting away the rubber gear so I let the motor do the work on its slowest setting and just held the utility knife fairly static to expose the metal disc that is what attached the gear to the threaded shaft.

Hi, the blender doesnt work. When you press any button the motor or mechanisms don't work or move. When you press the pulse button, the light does come on. The plastic gear and motor both turn freely by hand. Any clue as to the problem? Thanks
