Printerhead is not moving

Mine has had the same problem, and it was because the left small foam pads that the printer head comes to rest on, far right side, was not lying flat.
Was able to get it down and printing resumed. Happened again, same story.
Happened again, and the foam pad has now disappeared. So I am unable to fix it.
Printer is just 15 months old, light use.

12 times is AP position error.
Check the carriage lift mechanism or paper feed mechanism.
In worst case the print head or logic board assembly are defective.
