I had this happen once and believe it is caused by an object in the DD not letting the inside top lid to close. The top lid needs to be reset. Simply unplug the power and wait 30 seconds or so and plug it back in. This should reset it.

Thanks Great solution. Work all fine now. So easy, why couldn't F & P suggest this?

The glasses and cups in the top rack have a sediment on them after the cycle is over. The dishes in the bottom rack are fine. Thanks

open the door and look inside the top of machine.
might be a rubber plug there. if plug is not water tight
or missing water will go thru and hit countertop. wet wooden countertop

Ariston dish washer door will not shut properly.

Check that something has not got wedged behind the top basket stopping it closing fully. If that is ok what can happen is that if there is something causing the door not closing fully ,when you try to close door to do a wash instead of the little hook actuator in the door switch fully engaging with the clasp on the body of unit,it closes down before it engages. It is like a finger hooking over say the top of your trousers. If you turn power off and get 2 small screwdrivers and carefully put them either side of the hook on door then try to bring it back to its open position.

Hope this helps.

I opened teh door and thought i felt something hit

Murray, It sounds like one of the door springs has broken and that is why the door seems heavier and opens with much more force.

You'll want to at least make a temporary repair and order a new replacment spring to get your dishwasher working like it should and so it's safer too.

You can check to see which side of the dishwasher the spring broke, by locking the door shut (with the cycle set to "off"). Now remove the lower access panel, beneath the main dishwasher door. There are a couple of screws near the top corner edges of the panel, just under the main door and a couple more on the toe kick near the very bottom.

Once you've got the lower access panel off, you'll be able to see the two door springs, (there is one on each side). Of course, the broken one might have fallen off the spring notches, so look around and you should see it.

With the door still closed and locked, you can remove the broken spring and see if it's just the hook end that broke. If that's the case, you can reform the end hook using a couple pairs of pliers and reinstall the spring on the door and frame mounting points. You'll have to use pliers to stretch the spring slightly to get it on the other mounting point, once you've got one end on a mounting point. If the spring broke off more than 3 coils, you'll need to replace it with a new one.

You can find a replacement by using and putting in your model number to locate a line drawing and parts listing for your particular model. You can also order a new one from them, or use the part number to get one locally, if you wish.

Once you've got the spring back on the door and cabinet mount points, you can unlock the door and gently lower the door to see if everything is working properly. Once you've opened and closed the door several times, you can reinstall the lower access panel and you're back in business.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

The door won't open or close without excessive force.

Feeling like going to the bump when closing the drawer because the sagging rubber seal from the top lid pressing again the top groove of your inner tube when closed.
Theis syntoms needs to be addressed since it is very near for a coming problem: Leaking then the Unit doesn't funtion any more.
either the seal is out of its place to press again the groove, or there is a problem with actuators causing the top lid sagging down. It is also possible that the Top Lid is falling out of its snapped position from left and/or right arm unless it unproperly installed if there is a recent service.
are you still excited. Let me know the progress so I can help you out. You can look on my solution on similar problem to get an idea what need to be involved. Good luck in finding.

Sounds like the lid is not opening all the way. Rubber may be coming off lid seal during opening and closing. Check you lid actuators replace both right and left if needed.
