Question about Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Calculator
I just replaced the batteries in my TI-83 calculator. When I turn the calculator on, the screen is completely black. I've tried to lighten the screen by hitting the 2nd button and the arrow keys, but nothing happens. How can I get the screen back to normal?
Okay, I tried all these things, but what finally worked for me was holding the down arrow and tapping the 2nd button.

Try adjusting the brightness by pressing 2nd key or witchever name is on yours for the Alt key + the up or down arow key(as you see fitted)

Try replacing both the AAA batteries and the back-up batteries. This should probably fix the problem.
