Re: tv

I don't know if this will help you or not, but we had that problem, and it was a loose connection. After all cables were plugged in tight, on both the receiver and TV we had color again.

We would be happy to help get that fixed right away. Thefirst thing we want to ensure is that all connected equipment is on. Check whattype of cable is used to connect the TV to the receiver. If you are using a coax cable to connect the receiver toTV1, check the receiver's back panel for the output name. If your receiver hasa "TV CH 3/4 out":Tune TV to channel 3 or channel 4, if it is labeled "Home Distribution": TuneTV to channel 62 or 75. If using non-Coax (RCA, Component, or HDMI) to connect receiver to TV1,cycle through the inputs until picture appears; Most TVs have a "TV/Video", "Input", or"Source" button. We also want to ensure that the TV and thereceiver are connected properly, please visit this link to for moreinformation: we have made sure everything is connected properly, unplug receiver for 10seconds then plug it back in, this will reset the receiver. If we are still notgetting a picture connect another component (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) to the sameTV, using same cable, same input, and same channel to see if it works. If youget a picture with the other component give us a call at 1-800-333-DISH (3474)for some additional troubleshooting. If it doesn't work with the othercomponent then replace the cable that was used.

We hope these steps get the color back on your DISH Network programming. We want to thank you for being a valuedDISH Network customer!

My componet/av only shows black and white on my vizio vp422

The 37" Vizio I just bought has a very confusing feature where the same input can be used as either the Y channel of the component or the full video channel for composite. If you plug a component source into the TV and then select the composite input ("AV" on the remote), you will see a black and white version of the full component signal (makes sense as the Y channel is just the luminance component). As sad as it is, I was stumped by this for a while until I happened to hit "COMP" and got full color. FWIW, the manual warns about this, but it really doesn't emphasize the point. I wonder how many returns they get because of this.

Lg 32lc2r, only showing picture in black and white

Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.

The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.

If you are connected to a HD cale box using component cables IE (G, R & B) then check if either the Red or the Blue has come loose or unplugged as this will cause most HD sets to revert to a black and white picture.
