"Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare joystick"
i download latest software and the game will not recognize the joystick. the stick works(all buttons) but not with game...in past i broke 3 fingers on left hand, im 56 now with arthritis cant move/control fingers well enough to move in game using keyboard. really appricate any help. thanks!

If it doesnt work, then try the controller. If the controller works, then just use that. Sometimes the system does not recognize the joystick.

Im pretty sure that CoD4 doesn't support controllers by the looks of things you need to find a program that maps the joystick buttons to keyboard buttons ..Im thinking ...or maybe goto best buy and talk to them bout a hand control ....im thinkin that if you set the joy settings to default and open word or notepad and hit the buttons , should give you letters and symbols...record them and REmap the CoD4 controls with what you wrote down as...like joy1 (trigger on a joystick) is the letter A when pushed on WORD or NOTEPAD try namming it fire ( A ) and see if it shoots..
