Disable num lock

Deskop or Laptop seems to be a contradiction >????

The num lock (number or numeric lock) can become annoying if you tend to accidentally hit the num lock key on your laptop and turn it on or off.
Disabling the num lock completely involves editing the system registry.
Before performing such edits, always save and back up your computer information in case you make a mistake, as the system registry controls many aspects of your computer's operation.
Once you have disabled the num lock on your laptop, you must edit the system registry again to re-enable that function.

Close all windows and programs that are running on your computer.
Press the "Windows" key and the "R" key simultaneously to open the "Run" dialog box.

Type "regedit" without the quotation marks, then press "Enter."
Click the "+" symbol next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then select the "+" symbol next to "Control Panel."
Click on "Keyboard."
Double-click "IntitialKeyboardIndicators."
Enter "0" (the number zero) in the "Value Data" field to disable the num lock after logon, or enter "1" (the number one) to disable the num lock entirely.
Click "OK," then close the registry by clicking the "X" in the upper right corner of the registry window.
Restart your computer.
To re-enable num lock, follow the same process, but change the "Value Data" to "2."

My numeral key are not working[123456789 right side of key bord]

Step 1:
On some laptops it may be difficult to locate and activate the "Num Lock" key. Depending on the laptop, it may be hidden as a function where you have to press two keys. Most of the time, a laptop keyboard is just like a full desktop computer keyboard and it has a "Num Lock" key on it. Most people do not realize the "Num Lock" key is on their laptop keyboard because it barely serves a purpose without a full numeric keypad.

Press the "Num Lock" key on the laptop at the top, right of the keyboard. Press the "Num Lock" key and the "Fn" key simultaneously if the above does not work. Press "Fn" and "F11" simultaneously on the keyboard to activate the "Num Lock" function. Some laptops, like Toshiba, do have a "Num Lock" key. The shortcut for G3 Mac laptops it is "F5," and on G4 Mac laptops it is "F6."

Hello! i was just wondering how i can turn my num lock off? each time i try to add anything half way through a completed sentence, it writes over the preceding letter. really frustrating! I have a Toshiba...

To turn the numb lock off you can just tap the "num lock" button, which is normally located on the right side of the laptop. However, i haven't looked at your laptop, so you may also have to press the key "FN" along with "Num Lock" to get it to turn off.

As I type the wrong letter or number appears

Hi.
Based on the information you have provided, it seems that the issue might be due to the "Num Lock" feature.
This issue might occur, if the "Num Lock" key is ON.
Please try turning OFF the Num Lock key.
Then, check if the issue is resolved.
Please press the "Fn+Num Lock" keys to turn OFF the Num Lock feature.
Hope this helps.
Please feel free to contact for further information and assistance.

The keyboard on my laptop has numbers and keys on it

Hi,
It sounds like the Num Lock is on.

Depending on the make of the laptop there is a few different ways to turn it off.
Either just hit the Num Lock key and see if it goes off, hold down Fn and hit the Num Lock key or hold down the shift key and hit the Num Lock key.

Regards.
