"Locked Door" flashes after interrupting self clean (follow up)

Forgive me, but I didn't see a link to post a reply, just a comment so I'm posting this reply as a new post. My response to catriver's response to my original post was: Thanks Catriver, I think I'm doing something wrong. I pull the power cord and hold the cooking time and delay start pads together while my wife plugs the range back in. At this time, the screen says 72 (degrees) and "test". I press "8" and nothing changes, the screen still just says "test. I tried pressing and holding the "self clean" pad, but nothing happens (tried holding it for about 10 or 15 seconds). The whole time this is happening, it's still flashing "Locked Door". What am I doing wrong? ----- My original problem ----- My wife was cleaning the face of the range when she accidentally hit the self clean button. Not knowing what to do, she just reacted and opened the door. Initially, the locking mechanism had moved over into the lock position so we couldn't shut the door. I figured out how to raise the lid and get into the locking mechanism to move it back manually to the "open" position so we can at least shut the door now. However, it still flashes "Locked Door" and we can't do anything with the stove portion of it. I suspect there's a solenoid that still thinks the mechanism is in the locked position that needs to be reset. I've tried running it through the self clean cycle and recycling power on the unit. No change. Suggestions? TIA, Robert ----- catriver posted the following ----- Robert, see if you can get it back home by using the test funtion. Kill the power to the oven. Turn it back on and on the control press and hold the cooking time and delay start pads together. While hold these keys, press the number 8 pad. The words test should appear in the display. Now press and hold the self clean pad and it should cycle the cam through the whole process. Here is what you should see. 1 test (unit is in unlocked position 0 test (moving toward latched pos. 2 test (latched position 0 test (moving toward unlocked pos. 1 test (unit is in unlocked pos. Press cancel to exit the test. See if this gets you going again, let me know, Catriver

How do you keep the door locked so you can use t self cleaning feature

Good Morning Friend,

I understand you want to know how to keep the door locked on your Frigidaire oven, model# FEB24S2AS, so you can use the self-clean feature. The "Door Locked" light will flash until the door locks when the self-clean cycle is in use. It glows constantly after the door locks. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I have a kitchenaid ykess907ss00 i start the self kleen but i open de door at the same time now the light inside stay on and im not able to start the self kleen he tell me close the door

Hello there and welcome to Fixya
Ok here is the thing about the self clean features on these ovens the self clean feature is programmed in the ovens computer memory so when ever the self clean feature has been interrupted it needs to be reset
The only way to reset this is to first unplug the oven and leave it sit for at least 1 hour (without interruption) now after the full hour is up plug in the oven and you may hear a audiable beep if so simply press the cancel button and you should be able to nw open the door or get back to what you were trying to do ok ?
So please try this and post me a comment on how this works if there is more help that is needed i can continue to help you on this ok?
Best regards Michael

Oven lock stuck in locked position and oven door won't close - was starting self cleaning and then checked to see if door was locked and door opened, but lock engaged, and now oven door won't shut. ...

Hello there:
This is a very common issue with these appliances whenever the cleaning cycle is interrupted this normally is the result.
So what you will need to do is to first unplug the appliance from the wall outlet and leave it alone for 1 hour this allows the internal self reset feature to reset the oven.
once the hour has elapsed plug it back in and you should hear a audiable click within about 5 min or if you have a cancel button press it and you should be able to continue from there okHopethis is very helpful for you Please keep me posted ok

Oven shut down during Self-cleaning

tde, sounds like your thermal fuse (TC0) opened on the back side of the oven. If this opens, it will shut the oven down. This happens alot during self cleaning on built ins. Sometimes I have to re-route the tco to a different area to prevent this from happening. Your part number is 4451442. You will have to pull the oven out far enough to remove the back paneling and replace the fuse....Catriver..post back.
