Need assembly instructions

if you bought it from ikea, the instructions are rubbish :)
towers are relatively easy to assemble as the plugs will only fit where they're meant to go.
if this doesn't help, can you tell us what instructions you actually need because unfortunately, we're not mind readers.

How to change the graphics card software in acer aspire desktop....

You'll just have to know what kind of graphics card expansion slot you have. Older systems have AGP slots & newer ones have PCI-Express. This will help you decide which type of card to install.

Once past that, you would have to physically open up the CPU tower case while the machine is off & unplugged from the power. If it has an existing graphics card, it will have to be removed & the new one will be installed in its place. If you had been using onboard video, make sure to plug the monitor data cable to the NEW video card's VGA slot.

Everything practically plugs into ONE SLOT & only goes in ONE WAY. so if it does not fit, then it's being placed incorrectly. After putting it back together, just restart the machine & insert the installation CD that came with the new video card & follow the program instructions.

Please take note that it may require that the software and drivers previous display adapter will have to be removed first.

Anybody know how to enable the AGP slot on an IBM NetVista 8305? Thanks.

Shut down your computer and reboot to the BIOS. Reach the BIOS by pressing the Access IBM button on your keyboard or by pressing the F11 key.
Use the arrow keys to scroll though the options to locate the video VGA graphic chip set. Follow the onscreen instructions to save the new BIOS settings.
Turn off the machine after the BIOS settings have been saved. Unplug the power cord from the electrical socket.
Open the side access panel of the Net Vista. On some models the panel will slide off; on others you may have to loosen the two thumbscrews holding it in place. If you have a desktop configuration instead of a tower, slide the top cover off the machine.
Remove the existing AGP graphics card from the machine. You may need to use a screwdriver to remove the screw holding the card in place.
Locate the proper slot for the new card. The new card may use the same AGP slot or use a PCI slot. If necessary, remove the dust cover for the selected slot with a screwdriver.
Slide the new card into the slot. Screw the holding screw into place if the card requires one.
Plug your monitor into the connection on the card. Plug the machine into the power source and turn the Net Vista on. Follow the onscreen instructions for installing the proper drivers if needed by your operating system. Replace the side panel when everything is working properly

Please rate me if this solution works for you

Thanks......Have a great time.

I have a new Acer desktop model Aspire X1301 and it seems to work fine except for a complete lack of sound. I have the audio wire hooked up to the rear of the tower - there are several ports to choose from...

First thing I would make sure it is plugged into the correct port. Make sure it's the one with the headphone Icon...They are usually green, but i've seen some pink ones. Physically get behind it and look. Then I would make sure the 3.5 audio plug is plugged into the monitor. I looked it up and there are 2 speakers in the monitor. Then when the PC is turned on and you are playing music, check the settings on the monitor itself...the little silver buttons in front...make sure the volume is turned up. Also, check the volume on the PC itself down by the clock. There will be a little speaker icon..make sure that it's not muted or something. Hopefully this helps ya, if not post back and we'll troubleshoot some more.

Mouse keeps stopping, batts changed, wireless keyboard ok, mouse starts and stops for no apparent reason. Brand new kit.

generally this will be caused from lack of signal, or dirt in the mouses "eye" , try moving the wireless reciever alittle closer to where the mouse is being used.
also, try blowing in the "eye" of the mouse really hard.

I have had problems with communication between the tower and the monitor. I recently bought a Dell flat screen monitor. The monitor worked for about two months, now when it is turned on, it immediately...

Sorry it IS the monitor this is a common problem, unfortunately, this is evidenced by the fact it still didn't work when connected to another machine, regardless of lack or message. Do a warranty claim.

Tesco website is very slow, unusable at present. Tesco claim not to have any issues, all other sites can be accessed without a problem. Is there something specific about this site or could it be settings...

Most likely it is a problem with their 'server' or it's lack of 'bandwith', either way there's nothing you can do about it but contact their "Webmaster". Although, I just went there myself and didn't see a problem. You can check your internet connection for free at Just follow their simple instructions.

Do I have a ir on my tower

I recommend the Acer line of products all the time and love working on them when they come in for upgrades.

You probably do not have IR installed or you'd have a transceiver attached to your tower.. You probably have a connector and IR is capable of being added on to your tower.

You will need to contact Acer and ask them to sell you the proper add on and or instruct you on what vendor to use to purchase one. They come with instructions. You'll end up with an attachment insert that goes in one of the blank slots at the bottom of your tower. You then plug in a transceiver unit that has a cable and you can then bring this around front so its accessible by another IR device. Normally, these were intended to be used with early versions of wireless mice. Now they are used for multimedia hand held remote controls that can turn up and turn down volume of a DVD playing, etc.

With a cell phone, you are much better off purchasing or using your USB cable that attaches to your cell phone and plugs into your PC. Then you can open the cell phone as a removable hard drive and transfer ring tones and mp3 files into the proper folders on your cell phones memory card.

Usually, you have to go through your phone store online to order the USB cable for your model, unless you have one. This is the easiest hassle-free method. Doing it by IR is full of problems waiting to surface and challenge you.

I hope this answers your question and if it does please rate this reply as 'Fixed'. Thank you in advance.

I'll still be glad to assist you later when you have the cable. You can click on my board nickname and then bookmark that profile page. Later you can return and click on the Ask Me button and I'll get an email you've made a request.

Let me know, if there is more you need to know before you rate this response. I'm here to help, sometimes not at my laptop every minute, but I will get back to you quickly.
