Scren with no image, power light on

Hello

I have a samsung monitor 920B bought less of 2 yars ago, but unfornutalely I lost my bill, so no manufacturer garantee.

the problem happened yesterday, the screen came black but the power light is on.

the screen image was excellent, pixels , etc all ok

I ask myself if the price to repair this monitor is expensive and if it worth or not better to buy a new one

Thank you
Patrick

    Hello

finally the problem is well inside.
I brought the monitor to a repair shop and they said this is the neon around the sceen

I don't really know about it but thats what they said

until then I had to buy a new screen. A Dell 24" HDMI.
this time I will keep my billing somewhere safe.

what you think about the neon. I never heard about this part.
and is it should be expensive to repair

  • serverpartne Mar 31, 2009

The repairman called me today. they found the real problem

it is not the fluorescent, but simply the power supply as I tought first

the price to repair will be 100.00 US

since I don't have no shematics, I can't test the voltage.

so I told him to repair.

    Thanks for your support

I think....
Your PC is overdriving the monitor and it is protecting itself from harm. Something changed.

Start in SAFE mode (press F8 wile booting) and SAFE mode to see if it works ok in DOS while booting and then in Windows DEFAULT setting. Then Reboot and readjust to something sensible (1280*1600, 32bit, 60Hz)

My guess is that MSoft pushed a patch or SP to your box and IT replaced the dll your monitor was using.

Goto mfg and DL and reinstall the correct drivers again

Good Luck!

Let me know if this fixes it

OK, do you HEAR any crackling High Voltage noise coming when you hit the ON button (Sounds like Hsssssssssssstt t t tt t) and then maybe it immediatly collapses?

I got it! Pull the plug and let it sit for 10 min, then put a Post-it note or small piece of paper with a bit of tape on the screen. it should 'hang' and move freely if you blow on it.

Watch the paper and Plug in the monitor - Anything happen?

Now, Watch the paper and Hit the Power button - anything happen?

    Let me know

    Sry - Improvising here ;-)

    Neon, No
Fluorescent, yes. That or the inverter transformer/HV supply. YYou can get parts to fix yourself for ~$50.00

I looked up the wrong monitor, sry didn't think yours was a flatscreen LCD ;-) - My bad

Samsung syncmaster 2220 blinking blue light and no image display

Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Good luck.

Hello,

A flashing power light like that indicated a blown power supply. Your monitor should be under warranty with Samsung. Check the mfg date on the back sticker, if it is less than 3 years then contact Samsung. If it is out of warranty then contact us at [email protected] and we can get you the info you need to do the repair yourself.

Hello,

Yous symptoms indicate a failing power supply. Since it is less that a year old you need to contact Samsung for a warranty replacement. The power supply can be repaired but if you open the case to do it then you void the warranty. If you need additional information about a repair please contact us at the email address below.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Monitor turns on for less than a second, then off. I bought a 19" Samsung LCD monitor (953BW) about 10 months ago and the first time I used it, it would only switch on for a split second and shut down. ...

Although the OP was 2009. I had this problem.

I simply replaced the power board. Which I bought from ebay for $20AUD.
It was real easy to remove as well. Just have a look for youtube videos.

Fixed!

Samsung 225bw display with NO VIDEO and flashing power button

Hello,

A flashing power light and no picture is a sure indication of a shorted power supply board. There are parts called capacitors that fail and this causes the power supply to continuously shut down and restart over and over, hence the power light flashing. If you can do a little soldering then you can repair the unit. Here is a link to a service guide showing how to dis-assemble the monitor and repair the power supply board.

I hope this helps, if so please ratre my solution.

SyncMaster 920n Monitor 1 1/2" greeen colour vertical bar

Samsung products does not require u to produce a bill during warranty, ur product info will be registered in the database of the customer care center. So you can go in and get ur claim with the warranty. And the about the green lines, it could be that something is wrong with your graphics adapter.

Samsung 940mw intermittent power...

I don't have a solution but would like to compare information as i just started looking into this problem myself. 1. I bought my Samsung 940mw in March, 2006 but didn't start having problems with it until around April, 2007 2. I'll be using it as my pc monitor when the screen goes black and the power light stays solid green. The monitor doesn't respond to the remote control. Nor can i manually turn it off via power button BUT i can restore it by a) turning power off at the UPS outlet it's plugged into b) removing the monitor cable from PC port c) restoring power and waiting for the Samsung diagnostic message about no monitor detected then d) plugging the cable back in. My monitor image reappears. 3. fyi I only use the analog monitor input. Samsung also released a new driver which hasn't made a difference. Within just last couple months the monitor will sometimes just go black a coupla seconds and come back on without any intervention
