Cant get pictures from camera to computer

If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Got svp hddv-2880 digital camera and video no software

I worked with the camera until I tried every possible combination of settings. Once I set the camera back to video instead of camera function and plugged it into the computer then it gave me a reading of Mass Storage and downloaded the 64 pictures I had taken and offered me the chance to save to a folder!

Still nothin'!

Hey there
Let try this before you go to Rite Aid
this I took from the camera manual, so make sure you flow the steps
For Windows 98/me customers:
Please install camera drive before connecting.
1. Turn the camera and computer on, then connect the camera to the computer with the
included USB cable, and then slide the Function switch to ► (Playback Function). (I think this is very importent make sure you put the playback function)
2. “USB Mass Storage drive” appears on the computer screen.(if it doesn't pop up, go to "my computer" and look for "USB mass storage drive"

Hope will help more and let me know what's happening

Nikon Coolpix L3

First you need the Nikon software to detect the camera especially in older operating systems.

The newest operating systems, even Linux should detect the camera as a portable drive or mass storage.

Another way is to use a card reader and eliminate completely the camera to computer drivers and software.

I always use the card reader instead of camera in most cases simply because I am using so many different kinds of cameras, it would not make sense to install software and drivers for every kind.

Uploading pictures

Mass storage is easier, in my opinion. In that mode, when you hook the camera up to the computer, it will show up as a device in My Computer. Then you can just access your pictures there.

Says camera is not connected to computer

I found this on another site. You have to set the camera itself to Mass Storage mode in order to work with Windows 2000. The steps are below. As soon as I did and plugged the camera back into the USB cable, Picture Project recognized the camera as connected, installed the mass storage driver for it and requested a restart of the PC. Able to access the memory card and download pictures.

On the camera itself, unplug the USB, turn it on and...

Press MENU....
Press ▲▼to choose OK...
Press ▲▼to choose OK...
Press ▲▼ to choose OK...
Press ▲▼to choose MASS Ok..
Press MENU to exit...
Then plug it back into the USB cable.

Good Luck
