Question about ASUS MyPal A632 Pocket PC

3 Answers

ASUS MyPal A632 will not boot up.

It will not respond to the on/off switch. It responds to RESET and the "ASUS Heart of technology" screen displays OK. When the "WINDOWS Mobile" screen appears it just crashes after about 3 or 4 seconds. Battery or External power makes no difference. I checked the battery voltage with a volt meter and I get 4.15 volts between the terminals marked "+" and "-" The terminal closest to the centre of the battery appears not to be connected to anything and the one between the + and - shows 4.15V from "+" and has 10kOhm to the - terminal

Happened the same for me.
After lots of digging & googling I found the simple solution:

At the back of the PDA there is a "Hold" button. Change the position back and it starts to respond as usual before.

I think the only solution will be to rewrite the firmware, follow this procedure :

It worked fine for me for a A639 that was freezing at boot

Asus mypal A639 keeps shutting down

I had this problem on my A639 after going on holiday with it (I think the x-ray scanners did something to it). It started switching itself off more and more as the days went by until one day it went off and never came back. After resetting it, it just stayed on the blue "ASUS Rock Solid Heart Touching" screen. I was worried that it was totally broken and I'd have to pay to get it repaired, but after searching the internet it turned out all I needed to do was re-flash the ROM with a fresh copy (I used the latest ROM). It now works fine and no longer turns itself off... didn't cost me ANYTHING to fix :-)

Im getting an orange power light when charging allso it wont power on

Usually that indicates a hardware problem. Try removing the battery and leaving it out overnight then with the charger ONLY try turning it back on. If it turns on GREAT. Now try it with the battery back in.

If that doesn't work it's toast :(

My ASUS A626 pda won't turn on. Screen dark

Next to the headphone jack, on the longer side, you will find a "HOLD" slider switch. It is presently showing red, meaning engaged. Push it back to the off, or normal position. This will release the lockup.

ASUS MyPal A626 Wouldn't boot

On the right side of your ASUS A626 there is a switch that says "HOLD". Make sure that isn't flipped on.

Hardware buttons does not work anymore...

My Asus A639 is also frozen on the blue Heart of Technology screen AGAIN. None of the buttons work, hold button is not active, cannot switch it off. The first time it was fixed by Asus under warrantee - took 5 weeks. The freeze might be related to using GPS software Copilot V6 - not certain.

Help please - how do I do a total reset?
