I replaced the Flyback and Horizontal Output X-Tor, No change. I could hear the power supply come up when I plugged it in, B+ was present and I had Horizontal pulses on the base of the Horizontal Output X-Tor. I was look through some RCA bulletins and came across TV-03007. Basically it says that CP23 a 2.2uF 50 VDC Cap would cause the set to start intermittently or very slowly. As per the bulletin I replaced this cap with a 4.7uF 50 VDC Cap. That was it! it came right up and has been working ever since. This also pertains to chassis' "AA1, BA1, CA1 and CB1". Good luck, I hope this helps.

  • Many TVs actually run their switchmode power supplies even when off to power the standby stuff like the remote control receiver, real time clock or timer, and channel memory. Depending on the design of the regulator, the power supply may be running at a low chopper frequency due to the light load. Some people, dogs, and rodents are then annoyed. It could also be an indication of a fault like a bad capacitor or loosened transformer core. I hope this help!!!

Sound won't work

If your TV has a picture but no sound, start by checking the obvious such as whether the mute button is on or whether the volume has been turned all the way down.

Next check your cable connections and make sure everything is plugged in tightly.

Change channels to make sure that it's not a technical difficulty with your TV service provider or TV station. Call your service provider to see if they're experiencing issues with their audio.

Try reconnecting the HDMI cable after you turn off the TV.

Make sure your remote is on the correct input, and see if you have sound while playing a DVD or video game.

For a simple troubleshooting checklist, see No sound on TV and get more details on some simple fixes for this problem. I hope this helps!

Picture went out and all the tv does is make a buzzing sound

The horizontal output transistor drives a transformer that gives you the high voltage to light up the picture tube, either the transistor or the transformer have gone bad, sometimes both have to be replaced and sometimes the transistor fails for no reason by itself.Be safe and call for help if you are not familiar with tv service.
