Is there a Alarm on my 96 Voyager?

I have a 96 Voyager I bought last year used. From the research I had done I thought it had a alarm. When I lock the doors the horn chirps but if I open a door nothing happens. I can see on the infromation display on the dash that there is a spot that says alarm. I have not seen this light up or anyting. Dose this mean I have a alarm but that alarm is disabled. How to I Enable or Disable the alarm if ther is one?

I have a 96 jetta voltswagon that used to have key for passenger door to set alarm on and off but when robbed kinda hard to afford new key. So when battery died alarm went off and anytime you connect...

Voyager ignition key in the ignition look under the dash there should be a little red button its just small small micro switch that should be the disabler you turn the ignition on with the button in okay now you disconnect the battery to charge it and once fully charge then you can go ahead and play with the alarm circuit but I've found if you take the ignition key put it in the drivers door you unlock the key and you hit the unlock button you lock the key and you hit the lock button then you unlock it but

How do i reset the alarm on a1998 plymouth grandvoyger grand touring van

Most times you can reset the alarm by locking and unlocking the driver's door with the key.
To prevent the alarm from being turned on, try to not use the key to lock the van. Use the inside door locks instead.

Alarm set

this is a factory alarm, the problem is the alarm is active, you will need to use the door locks to turn alarm off, insert key in driversdoor and lock and then unlock door this will turn alarm off, if that doesnt work then use pass/side door, the lock has a built in switch that knows when the door is locked or opened, the driversdoor may have a bad switch so inturn the computer thinks the door was forced opened without key and it is turning alarm on, so again use the key to unlock door try the pass/side if driversdoor doesnt work. good day

1996 Grand Cherokee keyless entry problem

That remote should not be able to  be programmed by you, it needs to be programmed by the dealer using their computer.  I know that some later and earlier models can be programmed by the user, but I did some research on this as i have a 96 as well and it seems the 96 was a dealer computer thing.  If you in fact bought the remote from the dealer they should be willing to program it for FREE.  Otherwise I was given a $30 estimate for the programming.

My battery died after recharging it the alarm buttom needs to be reset. I need to know where the reset buttom is

HI ! I haven' t researched your car for you just yet !

I thought Id quickly mention the common method for reprogramming your alarm & remote, If you still require assistance then just ask me and I will find more about your car :)

Common Methods for resetting/re-learning code

  • Factory Fitted Alarms/ Central Locking / remote comes on ignition key.

Insert ignition key , turn key to accessories / red , press & hold lock/unlock for a few secs.remove key, exit vehicle and try un/lock doors &/or alarm (Some models differ slightly & require engine on or manual use of door locks whilst resetting.

  • Aftermarket /Non-Factory / remote is separately operated
Most use a small back-up battery usually located within the loudspeaker/Alarm unit itself under the bonnet,
Remove this battery for a short period to reset the remote code

The access panel for the backup battery is never in an obvious place. look carefully :)
