Help, It won't even turn on!

One day I went to turn the computer on and it wouldn't turn on. The night before, I shut it down and it was fine. Now....when I looked, the ac adapter's green button blinks repeatedly, I believe it's supposed to stay on...? And my computer won't turn on. What should I do? Is the computer dead?

Alright, do you hear anything such as the Fan turning on or any humming sound? Have you attempted upgrading your BIOS 's Firmware? Or Altered the Hardware on the laptop. Your bios may have been bricked, your hopeless then, until you bring it to a certified technician(like me) to help you replace the BIOS chip or the Entire Motherboard. Attempt plugging in your laptop to a external monitor and try booting it up and see if you can see anything. There may have been a power spike when you left the laptop connected to your laptop, therefore frying your laptop, which then your laptop is useless.

Won't turn on

Dealing with overseas tech support people can be frustrating. If the laptop is only a few days old, you really need to contact them first.

Im sure its still covered under warranty, so start there first.
If it wont boot, it could be a number of things.
If you get no where with them, please post back and someone here will try to help.

Sud I turn my p/c every night

i assume you ask "should i turn my pc off every night?"

its a rather tought question and it is debated.

my computers are on 24hours a day, 365 days a year.
most servers areound the world is always on.

the worst thing for computer parts is to get cold -> warm -> cold -> warm ->-> all the time. this is what wears absolutely the most on components in the computer

so lets say you are using the computer in the evening and you are gonna start using it again in the morning, i would say you could just as well leave the computer on.

if you are going away for the weeken i would suggest to turn it off.

There is another concern about this tho. and that is about saving the environment. consuming less electricity.

so to conclude: Yes, if there is no special reason to leave the computer on (downloading files, playing music, whatever), you should shut it down every night.

please rate if you found this helpful

The computer turn on for a while then screen turn back off

you say you left it on all night and then when you came to turn it who turned it of or why did it go off ?
you probably have missing sys files in which case ur gonna have to reinstall os to replace sys files( you aint the first,it happens many times for many different reasons)
usually with incorrect shut down ,especially when shut down when updating files;trouble is most of the time you dont know its updating cos its in the background.
boot up with os in cd tray choose install ,not repair .system checks disk and detects existing os you can choose repair unless you opt for fresh install...that choice is yours.either way get you back in windows but repair gets you back before things went wrong with all software/files previously downloaded or saved intact.

When I boot up the screen is all colors and lines

It sounds to me like your cable is loose to the lcd or the video card is not properly 100 percent seeded into the mother board. Prolly the cable in one way or the other, perhaps bad cable.

Mark F K, truong808, does the cooling fan(s) blow or come on? If not, the system will sense tha ti is overheating and will shut down to prevent further damage. Also, a thermal sensor may be failing on the Mobo and thus keep the fan from initiating. The cheapest fix is to replace the fan. Worst case scenario is another Mobo may be the fix.
