my screen says that my player is "docked" however my computer is not reading that the player is connected? it was connected and i was attempting to transfer some audio files when my computer froze and i had to reboot. the player also says it's "docked" if i unplug it and try to see what songs actually made it to the player.

Try uninstalling and re-installing the software and drivers that comes with the device.

The player thinks it's docked but it's not communicating properly to the software because the data on your computer has probably become corrupted from the freeze.
