Epson Perfection V100 Photo flatbed scanner

Recently when scan a photo (print), the preview comes out such that the image is not correctly positioned and it has a long white streak (the width of which is equal to the width of the print in the preview) coming from it with some streaks of color (within the white streak). In addition, the color of the print (in the preview) is totally off. I recently installed Norton AntiVirus 2007 but I can't imagine that would effect a scanner's performance(?).
