3william56 - this is a "reverse" help solution! My screen broke, and I would love to have one that is missing pixels. Please e-mail me at rogerbrownell@yahoo.com to let me know if you have the old one! Thanks, Roger

The dead pixels on my beamer keep growing! Please help

how old is the car? Dead pixels is not something you fix, from the looks dead pixels is your issue, this is a result of prolong use and heat. you can replace the lcd with another that is compatible, thats another story.... but for now there is nothing you can do and it will continue to spread, to get the longest life out of your lcd try and see if there is an off button for the lcd itself, the more time it spends off, the longer it will last but there is no reverse button for this type damage- in case your wondering this may or may not have been prevented, try and keep lcd at a comfy temp, no prolonged direct sunlight etc and of course shut it off when not in use---- good luck... more questions? or I did not answer your question just let me know

I have a white dot on my lcd computer screen when the screen is black but with the screen on other colour the dot is not significant . I just wonder what the consequence of this dot is?

Hi.

Basically the white dot is a dead pixel, this is common with LCD screens. You have nothing much to worry about unless the screen develops more dead pixels which could lead to a screen replacement although its highly unlikely.

Regards.

FIXING DEAD PIXELS These WEB site gives instruction on removing dead pixels, but there is no guarantee it will work except replacing the LCD screen.

Texas Instruments powers on but has dead pixels

Hi uc_auto!

Sadly, LCD screen have the nature to have dead pixels and depending on the devide, some have a tolerable ammount of dead pixels they can have (which is a really low quantity). This is a hardware issue so further assistance cannot be given. If the issue is bad enough that you can't use the device propperly, try getting a replacement.

Sorry about the inconvinience.

Lines all over screne vertical shuttering

Hi,

Looks like your LCD screen got some dead pixels.

My suggestion would be to bring that laptop to your nearest service center or technician and have them check the monitor.

Am afraid to tell you that most dead pixels are unrepairable, hope that only the connection on the LCD screen are at fault.

Happy to sove your problem!

Thakns for asking Fixya!

Black spots appeared on 17" LCD Monitor-SyncMaster740N

you might have what you call "dead pixels" or a "stuck pixel" try a simple test like this one now it is not the most creative one, but it does help to see if that is the case. u might be able to Fix a STUCK pixel, but unfortunately you can not fix a "DEAD pixel" simply because it is DEAD.
try this website for simple fix instructions.
if is dead pixel what you have, if u can live with it, great, if not , it might be a good reason to get yourself an another monitor.

Good luck

Blue vertical line

The lines appearing on your LCD means it has a defect on the screen.

There are 3 types of pixel defect
1) dead pixel - pixel is always off
2) stuck pixel - pixel is always on
3) hot pixel - pixel is on but in red, green, blue or yellow, can also be a light black color

You can try to fix stuck or hot pixels but dead is dead.
1st method, flashing different colors rapidly:
JSScreenfix.com has a great tool. This is their free java applet or you can download it below.

2nd method, applying pressure to pixel:
Damp paper towel, Small stylus or dull pencil.

3rd method, tapping the pixel:
Pen with cover on or another small, blunt object.

If your laptop is still under warranty, get it replaced. If not you are looking at the most expensive part in a laptop to get replaced. (LCD screens on laptop is roughly equivalent to 40-60% of the total laptop cost

Please rate this if it this helps.

Dead pixel

Dead pixels cannot be fixed, each pixel is controlled by a transistor that is part of the LCD screen. If it is bad, the only option is to replace the LCD screen.
