I have had the starter tested and have put a new bat in the boat is a horizon 2000 and its a 1989 i am new at rebuilding boats but i have done a few cars can someone help
There are lockouts in the outdrives. You need to have the outdrive down for the starter to work. There is an operating range on the outdrive to keep the driveshaft from breaking. Be sure to have vent blowers on and water to outdrive or in lake. You don't want to burn up the impeller. Also you need discharge water in exhaust passages or it will destroy rubber parts.
